Scored a 91 V8 a couple of weeks ago.... I love it!

Would you believe I was after a 300ZX but they were all so tatty (for my money). Then I spotted this Dark green Lexus and loved the style. I knew nothing about the soarer but bought it anyway (10k). It has 105000 on the clock and runs sweet!

It was great to realise a few days later that I had just got myself one of the best cars ever built (for my money) and almost certainly the best engine.

Ive been scanning the the forums almost as much as ive been driving the car, and I thank all that have contributed so much for the use of everyone else.

So far ive done the 'Cruise Override' the 'Aircon Filter' the 'Headlight Polish' and today replaced the seals on my leaking power steering pump and an oil change.

My couple of questions are: are all engine bays left in matt black as mine is or has my car had a complete front end replacement? and... umm... cant remember... but ill get back to you all on that no doubt ;)

Happy to have my soarer and looking forward to fitting a CarPC (its begging for it)

Cheers Swerve

to Soarer Central, Jonah. May your stay be a long and happy one.

Get the engine bay dirty and it won't matter. :-)

Yep I second that, but then again I dont like my engine bays to be dirty, just like the outside and the inside of my car, so I do belive mine is still green too lol

So many greens mmmm

BTW welcome to the club, may you never leave

Also since this is your first post, ill point out a couple of things to make the most out of this club.

1. Construct your profile if you havent, and by that I mean, add a picture, even a temp one for now.

2. In the profile, dedicate an email account purely for new threads to be sent to, so you're up to date with what's going on. Sometimes you can have a lot of fun...lots of people talking gibberish...like me

3. Get all the common fixes done ASAP as the longer you leave them, the more you will hate the car (talking from personal experience)

4. Before posting up any new threads, make sure you use the search button up the top of the page.

5. Enjoy the forum :-)

Once again welcome to the club

Well I did the BFI yesterday, all but cut open the filter box... i cant find any of those nice stainless egg cups. I guess ill just cut the whole front out then?

Flushed the brake fluid today but the pedal still feels like it needs a lot of pressure? When i jump in my girls Rav4 i nearly hit the windscreen when i just touch the brake.

Ill have to work out how to post pics :-)

Thanks for the hearty welcome guys, its nice to be here

Better brake pads should help if the pedal isn't spongy.

If you like the egg cup idea, give some speaker ports a try. I've done a couple this way and I'm happy with the results. - I got mine from jaycar.

Thanks Rainer but i ended up cutting a neat oblong out of the top third, ill line it with some rubber soon.
The power difference was quite noticeable. Instead of a squeek from standing foot flat i get a substantial wheel spin (now i need to spend a $G on traction control!). Well worth the effort (a good days work for me) and it cost me nothing. i hear say you gain about 12HP?

I checked my plugs, leads and timing belt today, all seem brand new so theres a few hundred i can put towards my carputer (or extractors) :-)

I Think though ill do the control arm and engine rubbers next.

Still working on the mechanics of posting pics (anyone know an easy way please enlighten me)

Cheers Jonah
