Although I am classed as a newbie, I was registered on this site in 2004 when I purchased a very nice Soarer TT.
This was a great vehicle (so my son nicked it !), and the wife complained about the "firm" ride on our sh!t country roads. The son sill has the Soarer in great shape.
Needing something a bit quicker than the young blokes car, I looked for a 2JZ-GTE vehicle, and along came the Aristo.
This is the best vehicle I have had the pleasure to own (for an oldie). The combination of luxury and performance is a credit to Toyota. It is a very usable 4 door vehicle which also attracts a great deal of positive attention. At current prices it is great value for money, even allowing for the usual fixes needed for a vehicle of this age.
I wish to thank the dedicated enthusiasts among you whose information on this forum has helped me many times with both these vehicles, and hope to meet you at a future gathering.

Steve.
Nice car. Would have done well here if Aust delivered.
I often wonder why Toyota, the worlds most powerful car maker with wonderful and interesting cars all over the globe, can get it so wrong in Australia. We have got to have the most boring Toyota cars on the planet. Three versions of the bloody camry!!!

Steve, Maybe 18 months ago passing through Forbes and refuelling my green V8 at the BP station, met the owner who had imported 2 or 3 soarers, one parked on the (then)grass out front. There was also a new GS300 there on the return journey. Presumably Forbes isn't that large that you wouldn't have encountered him ..... or is that you? Cheers

Hi Jim,
No, that is not me - it is Vince Aitken. I think his name appears on the members list of ALSC. Yes, he has a new Lexus GS300 plus his V8 soarer. He watches me drive past and probably wishes he had my engine is his $100,000+ car ! (sorry Vince).
Forbes has its fair share of Soarers for a small town - Vince's V8, my son John's TT, and now John's friend has 2 TT's. Still only one Aristo.
