Hey all. I'm new to the site. I have posted in the old school soarers section about my MZ-10 soarer, but would like to get the word out more. I need help sourcing new and used parts for it. Namely fender mirrors and blinkers, badges, some interior stuff, maybe some 2nd hand struts in the near future. If anybody knows who wrecks this model of soarer please speak up, and any places that can get new gaskets and stuff for them in less than a 8-week wait. It's a mz-10 with a M-teu 2 litre 6 SOHC and auto. Thank you.
Well I know when I had my 85 mz10 soarer, it was a bitch to get parts. No one wanted to help me out. I had to wait 8 weeks to get some top bearing plates for the front shocks, obviously from Japan. Interior is worse, perhaps find a wreck, start from there. How many kilometers has the engine done? I take it all your bushes are worn and need replacing? It was my first car which I had it for a bit over a year, and just ended up selling it for cheap. It will cost quite a bit for you to get it running and handling good. My first mistake with mine was forking out $3500 for a rebuilt turbo and a dodgy water to air cooling system. Might I suggest taking out the Mteu engine + gearbox, and putting a newer engine, 1jz maybe.. I don't know if what you budget is or what you want to do with this car.

Quick response, awesome. Yeah, i paid bugger all for the car so i don't mind spending a lil bit. The previous owner also has a spare motor and auto for me to pick up, it's a twin cam motor so my guess its either a 7mgte or a 1ggte, he doesn't know LOL! He had a spare car, but he pulled it to bits and threw most of it out! Besides the blown headgasket it's mechanically A ok. They had the stock T03 reconditioned about a year ago, and it still spools healthy. I'm eventually going to sell it and i was told that this particular model is worth more in original condition, true? Thats why i'm chasing fender mirrors etc. Not going to heavily modify it, and its a luxury car so i'm not going to bother with suspension mods. I also heard there is a jap import wrecker in sandgate in brisbane that still has this model, anybody heard of them? Cheers lads.
I think you mean All Jap Auto Sandgate Rd, Virginia. I was going to bring that up but I think it's just a Queensland business?
To be honest if you still have a nice looking clean 1st gen soarer, you still wont get much for it. Mine was pretty good and didn't get what I wanted for it. There's no market for them.
And I have a mate trying to sell his gz10 with a 1ggte conversion and has had not much luck with it.

Well i'm looking at re-spraying my mz-10, and just a few minor tidy ups. These days, what money do they roughly pull at point of sale? Another question too, I used to have a old 74' mark 2 corona with the 2L straight 6 SOHC, the motor in that was called "M", are these motors similar??? if so

These can fetch anywhere from a couple of hundred to a couple of grand. I don't think I've seen a stock one sell successfully for more than the $2500 mark.
Being an old car without a cult following, they just don't demand the $$. Although a small cult in the drifting game is emerging.
And yes, the M-TEU is basically the same engine as the M, but with a turbo and fuel injection.
