Hey everybody, just became a very happy owner of a manual twin turbo soarer and whilst stumbling around looking for tech info and paths available to upgrade it just happened to come across this site, strangely enough after purchasing my soarer the other half finally decided to get rid of her POS silvia as she wants a soarer/sc400 to call her own - lovin it as I hate silvia's - anyways hope to share heaps of info and learn alot more in return, hope to see/chat to you all soon

definitely have to say that I wasn't disappointed with the performance - especially as it's standard - so can't wait to start the upgrades - thanks all

Benn, Congrats on your choice of vehicle. I have two manuals at the moment and will have difficulty parting with either. You should familiarise yourself with the "Search" menu on this forum and you will find all the information you need about mods, upgrades, repairs, tech info, and differences between the V8 models. You should post some pics of your car. What year model is it? How many km? A couple of things to watch with the Tt are: - Every 100,000km change the water pump when you change the timing belt, as the water pump fails around the same time and its easy to change when the belt is being done. Will save you repeating a lot of the same work. - If you have a steel pulley wheel on the fan belt tensioner, my experience tells me the bearing fails every 80,000km. The bearing is available from all bearing suppliers for $6.00 and any mechanic can press in in the pulley. - If you top radiator tank has any hairline cracks in the plastic it needs changing. These things should help you look after your engine. Happy Soarering !!

Hey Michael,
It's a '92 model with 86000 on the clock - original or not is the question - will post pics as soon as I can find my SD reader to xfer files off my camera - thanks for the tips too - looking at the water pump id say it's been done recently but the belt will be a different story (I'd say it's time for a trust heavy duty) - will definitely check that bearing too
