Hi guys. I have been lurking in the shadows on your forum for a while now and have decided that my Ford and Alfa days are 'limited' (sic) and hopefully I will soon become a V8 Soarer Limited owner.... all I have to do is find the lucky Soarer! I have my list of things to check for thanks to your pages here.
When I find it, (hopefully in Vic) it will be a clean straight and well cared for UZZ 31 (or 32) with EMV, roof, Leather, decent wheels, maybe even TRC and a camera. Chances are it wont be white and wont be hugely expensive.
Looking forward to taking part in the forum and if you know of any cars answering that description that are available then please don't be shy. I am very eager.
Don Bagnall Moderator New Zealand I have WAY less Soarers than Hayden :-(

I thought about what I said after and realised I should have said good value for good money rather than inexpensive. For what you can get for your $ , compared to something newer, lacking any style and character, and full of plastic, I think most Soarers ARE inexpensive though. Maybe I will think differently after I have owned one....

Yay I am now a REAL member.
After looking at a few dogs and much disappointment I have found something I'm happy with...
Now a proud owner of a 1992 UZZ31 V8 Limited, Leather (good condition), EMV (seems)100% OK and has local FM upgrade, 2 way sunroof, after market height controller,(everything bar reverse camera and TRC) only one Aussie owner for 6 years since import who used weekends only. 88***kms Service history with guy called 'Shane'(anyone know of him?) from Ferntree Gully or that area. Spoke to him belts and pump done and said its been well cared for. Motor sounds quiet, and car is clunk and rattle/squeak free.
I have had it just over 24 hours now and I cant stop driving around, just for the hell of it. 300kms done already. Initial thoughts are brilliant comfortable car which is beautiful to drive, and the sound system ('standard' equipment) is awesome, even if the CD (stacker) doesn't like big bumps and has skipped once or twice. Only criticism to date is 'that bloody reverse bleeper', and a dash that seems to be difficult to read in bright daylight.
Its given me the best Feelgood glow ever (with my pants on, and not involving racing on track). Anyway got to go, need to go for a drive. Thanks to all contributors to the forum for all the free advice and help I have read, and who gave me a bit of confidence making the search less daunting and stressful. Plus it came in way under budget, less than $8K inc ORC's! (*Insert 'pig in poop' smiley*)

Thanks Peter.... I must admit I'm already a bit emotionally attached to it, and cant see me doing much in the way of adding body kits etc. I rather like the standard look. It has even had its first trip to Carlovers (since the pics) which for Melbourne people is the probable cause of the drought breaking rain that started within an hour of putting the chamois away! Next job is get stuck into cleaning up the leather seats with 'Orange' hand cleaner (so the search button tells me).... and the carpets, all of which are in great nick but would benefit from a clean, and then a set of mats.
Re the wheels, I like them and they have new rubber all round, but they are 16's, and I was keen on 18's. Still I guess when the budget allows.... Maybe when the tyres need renewing. By then the price of 18's (wheels and tyres) v a set of 16 inch tyres only maybe a deciding factor. Depends whats around at the time ....although I do like the look of a set of Gewalt Evolution 3 piece 18's. Even the cheap copies for $200 a wheel would do the job if they were decent quality, and if they were available in gold. http://www.autotrader.com.au/iteminfo/adnumber_W1155336577338_cat_Wheels+%
