Hi,
I just joined the forum so I thought I would say hello. Im in Auckland New Zealand and have a 90 Celsior. Ive done some modifications but nothing big. It has JIC coilovers, 18's, a 2-1 2.5 inch exhaust and I have removed the two tone paint scheme. Pioneer audio and clear front indicators. Im basically after the low rider look, any of you guys gone super low?

I was behind a fool this morning in a super-low Honda Integra with a lego body kit. Driving over the judder bars along one of the roads to work he had to zig-zag like mad to scrape over, and he was still touching. I ended up getting very impatient and angry having to stop and start and stop and start wasting fuel because this idiot had such an over lowered car he couldnt get over even these large, low judder bars, so I passed him while he was zig zagging and left him in my dust.

Hi Greg, here are a few older photos of my Celsior, do you have some photos posted somewhere?
Matt I think your moral is not totally accurate, the moral of your story is: things that I dont like are super dumb. Example: Some guy in a 1300 standard Toyota Starlet sees you driving a big gas guzzler and thinks "that guy pays twice what I pay in gas to get from A to B. Owning a big car with bad fuel economy is super dumb". Really he just doesnt care about the pleasure of driving a nice powerfull car, you dont care about your car looking really aggressively low. In both cases noone is super dumb, they just have different tastes. I dont care about driving slow over judderbars, to me its worth the pay off of having a big smile on my face when I see my car really low - the way I like it

Anyone who drives something that causes large queues of traffic to form behind it with clear road in front is clearly doing something wrong. Minimum height rules are there for a reason - this guy was way under 100mm, and other road users were suffering because of it.
Daniel, yup speed hump are the words I was looking for.

Love it Dom!! Low and mean in black should consider tinting it too
Thanks Greg I have been thinking about tinting it for a while now, if I tint it I want it to be very dark and even front and rear. The last time I looked into it they could only put light tints on the front. Now you have got me thinking its time to look into it again hehehe.
Matt, holding up other motorists and having a superlow car are two very different things. If their were people behind me id let them go, thats to do with the driver, not the suspension.

He would have been waiting for a long time for the traffic to stop in rush hour.
I think the best solution is to have a height controller, then you can get the look you want and have a practical car too. Of course unless you start with bags, it's very expensive. Other option is to have a "regular" car too.

Thanks Byron, it has 18's on it at the moment and id love to upgrade to some 20's but the money for tyres would kill me. Having it that low makes me run alot of camber in the rear which wears the tyres pretty quick, especially if I light it up a bit
Matt I have actually posted questions about air suspension controllers in the Suspension section. I wasnt aware that they existed until recently and I still have all the air suspension in my garage. If I can find out where to get a controller and confirm that they can allow me to go nice and low I would like to pull out my coil overs and reinstall the air suspension. Can anyone give me any information on the controllers?
Cheers Dom

this shot is with the controller set on 9 front and back. It is only 1 setting away from super low. Keep in mind I have 19" wheels which do keep the car a little high. I tried driving like that.....omg!!! it was shocking, hard and felt like the suspension was non existent

thanks Greg, man that is a nice ride. What sort of exhaust have you got on there? When you use the superlow setting does it go much lower than that, woould you tuck the rear rims?

Rims are 18"s
You don't want to drive around like that though, as there is absolutely no air in the struts and you will more then likely damage them in the long run. I only ever leave it that low when I'm parked as it looks very nice.
There was a time when I totally forgot to switch the height controller off and ended up scraping the front bar on a thick twig that was on the ground!
