Howdy, I'm Dale and I've just put my deposit on My first turbo charged car. I am importing a 1991 Toyota Soarer GT TT L through a local company called Import concern. Here she is:
I should have it landed in Alberta in Late July, so in the meantime I'll be asking a lot of questions. Thanks for checking it out and I'd be happy to answer any questions to the best of my current ability.

Welcome Dale. Be prepared to do a lot of reading as there is a ton of info available here. Also feel free to ask me if you have any issues, I'm happy to help out the local guys.

Likewise for me, Dale. We are here to help. You should come out to a meet at UC, there are a few soarers that come out. Car looks clean, and you have that unique SARD sticker on the back that makes it kinda look like a 180 or aristo style tails
By the looks of it, your car isn't actually the L version. I don't see the TEMS suspension strut covers in the bay. Looks like a really clean car though

You are possibly right Sean, but from what I've been told it's been upgraded to a Bilstein Suspension, so it might be hard tell from the photos. Do you know of any other tell tale signs? I'm probably going to rely on you guys a lot. Especially on preping for my OOP.}

If you look at a photo of the dash, in the lower left below the dash cluster there will be buttons for adjusting the clock. The L version also has a scroll button, which allows you to view the car's engine diagnostics check. Might be hard to see in broker photos though
From memory, I think only L's came with woodgrain as a standard feature, but it could have been an extra. As well, the doors auto lock above 23? km/hr, but you obviously can't test that now ;)

From that pic Dale, it IS a luxo (GTT-L) version with Power seats, cruise control and very possibly a Factory woodgrain kit on the console, which is rare & desirable.

Well It's finally here, not without it's issues though. The front lip is smash to hell, it's a lot lower than I expected, the battery is toast, and it was completely out of gas
Now for the good parts, It seems to run great so far. The suspension looks it good condition, as does the interior. It does read just under 42k km's, and the wheels are curb rash free!
There is another issue to resolve with my importer, it seems that the exhaust that was originally on the car at the time the broker took photos has some how mysteriously changed. from single to dual. I'm still trying to sort it out but when I do I'll create a post about the change in the Canuck section.

Sounds like my car when it arrived from Japan, except the lip was OK. It seems the batteries die completely after being without charge for an extended period, and can't be recharged. Best just to get a new one at least 640CCA. My car is so low I am surprised it passed our local road worthy tests....
The exhaust - that is another matter! I made sure that as soon as my car came off the ship I was able to strip out any removable items such as mats, sat-nav, stacker etc so it did not 'walk' but an exhaust!?

1) if it's an upgraded single vs a stock dual, I'd rather have the single.
2) It ISN'T a debate over single vs dual its the fact that it some how was switched between Japan and arriving to me, without my knowledge or permission. It unethical.

I don't believe the detailing is stock. Yes it is low, I'm not too sure on the springs yet I'll check em out tomorrow. It is a little rough around the edges, but I kind of like it that way. It has that ugly fast thing going for it.

Good to see you've got it now Dale. That seems a little bit odd that something is different than when it was in japan. The only thing that i had was a different battery and surprisingly this one is still alive despite the stereo so i can't complain.
