It does have the later tail lights though..so that would make it at least a 94 providing they are original.
When did the newer front end come in out of interest?
Is it possible that it has been in a bingle and the previous owner put on an older bumper?

That's why I love this sight..learn something new every day...so by deduction we can say that the car is probably a 94 or 95? They changed the front end in 96 didn't they?

They changed the front end late '96. I have a '96 TT and it came with the second series tail lights and front.

No Michael, its probably a '96 - the facelift was not introduced until late 1996. My own car is July 1996 and it does not have the facelift front bar, skirts and still uses the '94 tail lights.

The facelift was introduced in September '96 I believe.

Vinh do you have any pictures so I can compare the two? Are the parts interchangeable if I wanted to change the lights or the whole front end?

Oliver, the tail lights are definitely interchangeable between years 91 - 97, however resistors usually need to be added to avoid an error msg on your dash or fast flashing indicators etc. Nothing major. You can have a look at all the types of tail lights here:
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/283/113044.html?1162793106

I think the 97 tail lights are the L1's but they could be the L4's not too sure from the pics, either way they are the lights with a silver rimming around them, i'm sure if you search in the 'Bodywork and Exterior' section you can fin heaps of pics of 97 tail lights.

My car is a 1995, but the guy before me put the new front bumper on. He got a crap paint job and now its peeling....
It doesn't look like it was too hard of a conversion though.
I've been thinking about the new taillights for mine too....
They might be a bit of work, but if you know what you're doing then it should be a piece of cake.

May have an issue with fitment, as the late model tail lights were designed to line up with the late model rear bumper - which incidentally sticks out a little more then the earlier models.

You can still get it to fit though if you force it a little.

Unsure where to post this so I'll add this to my old thread.

I got my Soarer serviced (96 SC400) and he told me I need some parts.

- Both lower control arm bushers to be replaced.
- New air filter
- Coolant overflow bottle

Does anyone know where I can buy these parts?

Also, the lower engine sump and auto pan gasket is leaking, what action should I take?

I am car illiterate! So maybe a soarer wasn't for me, but I love driving it!!!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Daniel, thanks mate!!

The instructions I have say "both lower control arm bushes", so this means both front and rear bushes, correct?

The website says POA, what is a decent price to pay for this?

Did the mechanic say the front or the rear for the control arm bushes?

I assumed the front lower, as these usually are the ones that you needed to replaced!
