Hi there, I'm a whinging pomme. But, I own a 92 2.5 TT Soarer so I can't be that bad. It already had a body kit and 17" rims on it when I brought it, but the engine was stock. I've begun modding the Soarer, so far she has: Strut bar FMIC Electronic Boost Controller Custom Exhaust from downpipe Restrictor ring Intake Rad I'll post some pics up soon. Anyway Hello again

Hi Jeff Yes the exhaust alone led to hitting boost cut. After fitting the Front mount the problem became worse. The boost was running away with itself, stock pressure was over 1 bar. I had heard that Supra boys use a restrictor ring to limit stock baseline boost. They are a gasket shaped piece of metal. that is fitted between the downpipe and exhaust. I selected one with a hole of approx 2" this allowed me to have baseline boost of .85 bar on cold cold nights. It now means I can use the boost controller to take the boost to .95 bar. I'm amazed you guys haven't heard of them!! they are a common mod to a Supra. I'll post a picture of a restrictor ring up.

I think the Aussie guys would rather fix the boost cut problem than restrict anything - they are pretty hard core over there!

We mainly use Aftermarket Ecu's Like Mine's,Tom's or Blitz. Some of us use Fuel cut Defenders to trick the Ecu. As Matthew Said, Rather Fix the problem than restrict.

It's simply there to control the boost, I'm not planning on switching to uprated turbos yet. I also had the stock map sensor, and no form of management to control fueling or timing. So, it was essential to control the baseline boost to below 1bar. Having uncontrolled boost is dangerous to the engine. I could have had the stock turbos machined or work done to the actuators but the cost of this was uneconomical considering I eventually plan on going for a single, just not yet.

Yes it's on the list to get them fixed, there are 2 cracks both a free gift from the previous owner. I have a heap of plans for the Soarer and to date I think it's pretty much at stage 1 of tuning. All I have left to do to finish stage 1 is a downpipe and dump pipe and I'm good. Next is autobox mod, LSD, Emanage, Injectors, BOV, Drag Radials.

Rob, nice ride, like the front bar, really changes the aesthetics of the car...nice. And as Jeff said, get it fixed, before the crack gets worse, and you find yourself overtaking pieces of it. Well worth the cost of repair as opposed to replace it.

For the LSD,Check your compliance plate and see if it reads AO2B(factory LSD) or AO2A(Viscus diff)

Yer it needs lowering I agree, all in time at the moment I'm just putting the last finishing touches to stage 1 of my mod work to the engine. Then I'm moving onto suspension, and transmission.
