Hi! My name is Alex, for a year now I've lived in Palau - a tropical islands country in the Pacific. A couple of days ago I bought a '93 Toyota Soarer TT and besides being my first bought-on-my-own car it's the best car I've driven so far. It's one of two Soarers on Island. I must say I'm really proud of it. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of good mechanics around here, so it will take a lot of maintenance to keep it running smoothly.

Alex!! Where exactly in the Pacific is Palau? Sounds nice, though!! Maybe you can get with that other guy with the Soarer and start your own "Island Club?"

Palau - East of the Phillipines, north of Australia.. it's a tiny dot on the map [in region called Micronesia, mostly divers visit this area]. A club? There's no club, it's an ongoing competition ;)

Alex.............the only thing I know about Palau, is that's where they filmed a series of "Survivor".

Amazing underwater scenery, and a tranquil sorta place..........agin, Welcome!

40km/.h thats no fun

The country has no railways, and almost half of the roads are unpaved (of the 61 km/38 mi of highways, only 36 km/22 mi are paved). Driving is on the right and the speed limit is 40 km/h (25 mph). Taxis are available in Koror. They are not metered and fares are fixed. Only Koror maintains a bus service. Transportation between islands mostly relies on private boats.
