Hey everyone,

Wasn't too sure which forum to post this thread but figured this would probably be the one.

Anyway, I'm from Perth and am thinking of buying my first Soarer, Twin Turbo.. I had a look on autotrader.com.au and found a couple, mainly this one:

http://www.autotrader.com.au/iteminfo/adnumber_WT2963062682_loc_locRZSQregtAVSCdistRZSQAVSCstateRZSQ 8AVSCregRZSQ_off_9_sect_Automotive_sort_otRZSQ1BJDZfdRZSQSearchDisplayPriorityIndAVSCotRZSQ1BJDZfdRZ SQFirstPublished_sqt_0_srchby_mmbsRZSQMakeAVSCsrchbyRZSQmkmdlAVSCmkdlsRZSQToyotaMRFXCoasterMRFXSoare r_stpg_1_subs_Used+Cars_

this one grabs my attention some what. But 18,900$ do think that's a okay price? also there is:

http://www.autotrader.com.au/iteminfo/adnumber_W49987052667_loc_locRZSQregtAVSCdistRZSQAVSCstateRZSQ 8AVSCregRZSQ_off_6_sect_Automotive_sort_otRZSQ1BJDZfdRZSQSearchDisplayPriorityIndAVSCotRZSQ1BJDZfdRZ SQFirstPublished_sqt_0_srchby_mmbsRZSQMakeAVSCsrchbyRZSQmkmdlAVSCmkdlsRZSQToyotaMRFXSoarer_stpg_1_su bs_Used+Cars_

which seems to be the same car, but with diff rego??

anyway, i was just wondering what you all thought about this?

i originally was just going to buy a 94TT for about 14 and spend a little on it doing it up. But..meh~ if i can find one with a little bit of work done on it, well... that saves me time.

i'm going to ring them up after work and have a talk about them both.

anyway.
this whole thread probably makes little sense :-) i'm good at that.

any help would be great.

cheers,
ashley.

I think that they are both a bit pricey for what they are. If your going to spend that sort of money, you should be able to find a bit better than that. The first one is a 4 speed auto, not a 5 speed.
If you can drive a manual, than look for a manual one. A lot more fun, and they hold their value better also. Bit harder to find, but well worth it in the long run.
My 2 cents anyway.

i would stick to a stock one and do it up my self, at least this way you know what condition the car is. however i would accept mods like exhaust, front mount, BOV and that sort of stuff.

good luck with the search

That's it, modifying your own car is half the fun. The other half is wondering where all your hard earned has gone.

yeah, i swear both those ads are the same. i went and checked out the second one (not the plates "gtt") and i asked him it it was the same as the other ad. he said no no no no no, then i rang up the first ad and asked but it had been sold. sold for 16ish..

anyway..

the car~ second one~
had a quick look at it and the clear layer has started to get cancer. also, well, i know absolutely jack all about the tech/mech side of cars. when the car was on and in idle there was a tapping. mate said it was the tappets, he has the same in his tt supra.

do i worry about this? how much is that crap to get fixed?

oh the best part!!! you cant take it for a test drive until you either pay for it or get finance and have it approved and confirmed. hah~

but yeah, i'm definitely going to look around.

thanks all for the quick responses and info.
