| Thanks for the warm welcome. I did a longer post first but for some reason it didn't post, so I did a quick minimal post and it worked. You will see a lot more of me and Lew, I think you will be seeing me a fair bit for a chat or whatever. I have noticed some regular problems, 1) being the A/C LCD being black (wish I had been here for the group buy). The car is a dark green (the most common colour) and has just some minor rust where the passenger door rubber meets the roof. Do wheel bearings usually go? This one just started 2 days after I bought it. Not a big deal after all the car is 15 years old. That is enough for now. You will see me post in other threads and then you will wish I hadn't found this place. hehe. Oh pics.... hmm must be doing something wrong. Any advice on putting up some pics? Imageshack is where they are.

| Rust and wheel bearings are both pretty uncommon problems with Soarers. My previous Soarer had done 260,000km's, nearly 100,000 with me as the owner, and all the wheel bearing were still fine (no idea if they were replaced before I got it though) The paint on it was pretty rough but it had no rust. My current Soarer has done 130,000km (which I believe to be genuine based on the documentation I have), 50,000 with me, on what are probably the original wheel bearings. Paintwork is average to good, and there is no rust. Auckland is a very harsh environment for rust too, and both cars were/are parked daily next to the sea. |

Yeah the tint is a bit too dark at night. I may have to either drive in the day only or think about changing it to a lighter tint. Any idea on cost of changing the tint? |

| Maybe a one to two hundred bucks....i think here that's what a basic tint job costs. So maybe add a little extra to remove it at some places? |

| Paul did you buy this car of a guy that had a limp and walking stick? just it looks like the car i know Also did the guy have a kick arse looking rambler hornet? if so then there is a little more to the air con screen being black. your tinting contact Marty at serious tinting in 1/42 Bailey crescent south port 0402251644 Marty is a good mate of mine and did an aristo and several soarers for me |

| Lew, He did have a problem with his leg that he said was from construction accident. There were stickers on it saying "Hornet Industries" which I took off as they looked too hoonish for me. The other car I saw (may not have been his) Rx7 and a little hotted up 4 cyl ummm corolla maybe? Thanks for the contact number I will give him a call in a couple of weeks. Just had the front bearings done today so the pocket is still sore. hehe. |

| yep thats him that car has just had a 2nd hand diff fitted and the wheels are only about 2 months old. there is an electrical fault with the air con. Paul if you need stuff at all for the car come and see me before you go else were there are some real pricks on the coast that will tear you a new arse hole when it comes to prices thay don't like touching the imports i don't know why every 10th car on the road is an import up here. |

Brown-nosing aside, my first impression is that this is one slick and excellently put together forum and found it when looking for a fix for my wife's SC400 skipping CD player. Looking forward to exploring the threads and hopefully posting interesting stuff. } |

Not Australia but Japan Dave It just limits our choice when it comes to importing soarers as so many of them were produced in FSG. |
