Power mode engages a slightly stiffer suspension setting and allows the engine to rev higher before changing gear. For a twin turbo factory setup this is useless as the turbo runs out of puff around the 5-6k mark thus extending the revs of the engine has no performance gains at all.

Edward that's actually not exactly right. Although it's still a topic of debate it typically will have the tranny hold gears a little longer while not on WOT. At WOT there's a redline shift whether you have ECT to Norm or Pwr It's not really the turbo that runs out of puff either, it's flow restriction and engine timing that cause the drop off in power (AFAIK)... The ECT when set to Pwr also seems to make the transmission more prone to kicking down a little earlier than with it set to norm. Then on top of that there are changes with regards to the converter lockup however i'm not certain exactly what goes on there but you can feel it when cruising at highway speeds and playing with the switch.
The ECT button will also stiffen the suspension slightly in TEMS equipped cars.

Wot Scott said, except that the comment about TEMS suspension is limited to TTs. In UZZ31 V8s, there is a suspension firmness switch (Norm/Sport) separate from the ECT switch.

Located near by you will find the "search" switch, which allows you to find answers to questions which have been asked and answered a million times before. It does not affect your suspension stiffness however.
