| Hi everyone, I am the extremely proud owner of a 1992 model TT soarer as of yesterday, a dream that has been in the making for many years which extremely tight budgeting as a current uni student as allowed to come true. This is my first turbo vehicle and i am in awe of the performance but no very little on maintenance and care for them, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and i am very interested to hear any comments and thoughts on my vehicle, Cheers Guys |

| Looks great Darcy. Dave, rego is just a short way of saying registration. It's an Aussie thing |

| Thanks very much, as i have never owned a turbo vehicle i was worried about how to look after them but to find this site was a blessing. I think the first thing i will do is change the oil, just to be sure. |

Out here we have usually 4 year registrations and plates, but every year you have to get your car inspected by a state ran inspection station, that can be a little brutal!! |

| yeh, everything has to be running awesome with most mechanics over here to pass registration, it stalled unexpectedly the other day but i plan to figure that out and fix it ASAP, god i would love 4 years of registration though!! |

| If you want ease of ownership look at us in alberta. You can buy up to 7 years rego at once and never any inspections... ever. (once it's registered) Oh and also no cats or ever exhaust needed. I love my straight pipe. |

| We have "loud noise" ordinances here that includes mufflers, or lack of, lol, and car stereos. Just another way to get pulled over for and support the great city we live in!! |

Its every 6 months here - unless its a new vehicle, then its 12 - but only for the first couple of years I think. They aren't super thourough though, I've never had my Soarers fail on anything other than a worn seatbelt once many years ago, but then I'm resonably fussy about maintenance. |

| The only thing to ever fail, TWICE, was my petrol cap. One was even brand new! |

| A years registration is $199(NZD), and the 6 monthly WOF (Warrant of Fitness) aka: Vehicle Inspection is $32 - $40(NZD) depending on where ya go.

| In Louisiana, state inspections run $15.00 a year, but very strict!! The "Fresh Air Act" requires strict emissions control tests that even slight modifications to the exhaust can fail the test. Forget cutting the cadilatic converter, you'll fail! LOL |

| Don, My bloke charges $43, but he does a proper job of it, unlike most vehicle testing centres I've tried. I was going to a $15 place, but stopped when they didn't pick up a worn ball joint on my wifes car (I was testing the testers) Dave, no instrument based emissions tests here - yet, they have been talking about it for a while so its only a matter of time I guess. |
