Hi all, I just became a soarer owner for the first time...I found the car by accident while waiting for the tyre shop to fit new rubber on my wifes merc. My last car was a Honda Legend with 300k's and 1 week of rego left. I walked out of the dealership with a $8,000 visa bill. It seemed a lot of car for the money. They threw in a 12 month warranty too. I hope to keep the car stock. Only thing I have done so far is bought some EMV stickers from Dave Rose. Hopefully I can do something about the TV tuner or maybe an aftermarket GPS, but thats a summer holiday project. Great website, Ive never found a site so dedicated and informative on one car model. thanks for your info and advice, im sure it will serve me well. For anyone who is looking for a good mechanic in the south-east, I have found "Prestige Performance" to be excellent. I took the car around to them yesterday and they were very very knowledgable on Soarers. They have a real passion for performance cars which is a big reassurance when trusting your car with someone.

Welcome Ben.
Looks like a good buy, these are terrific cars, probably some of the best around - especially for the price. Im sure you will find that the longer you own it.
Don Bagnall Moderator New Zealand I have WAY less Soarers than Hayden :-(

thanks guys. It seems like a cheap buy, Im counting on having to spend a couple of thousand in fix ups and maintenance, but its still a cheap car. Hopefully I can try out a few of the basic fix-ups myself without getting into strife. Im an accountant and have very limited mechanical knowledge.

Hi Alex, Yes I did get it from Awesome Autos. Did you see it there ? I was at the Tyre Factory just around the corner when I found it. I dont know if it was just sales talk or not, but the guy told me when I picked it up that he could have sold it every day after I paid for it, as he had calls every day and some guy from Sunshine drove all the way with cheque book in hand. They had it for $10k and I got $2k for the Legend trade-in.

Yeah, I'm looking for one at the moment, went and inspected it about a month ago. Had one of my mates look at it too, great condition- probably the best around. My only worry was with the suspension- when I saw it it's back end was up in the air (but he did say he was fixing something).
I wouldn't pay much attention to what he said, that's textbook sales talk. It's been there for a while, and he didn't know it had air suspension, didn't know about TEMS... he does have some nice cars in there though!

I noticed the back end seemed a bit high too at first. I flicked the Normal - High switch a few times, everything works fine now. The car was apparently already sold "subject to finance" but the guy couldnt get finance. He had already arranged and paid for a RACV report which said everything was fine. They gave me copies of all the reports and paperwork which suprised me.
