Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while now and I've finally got myself a soarer.

Its an ultra rare green uzz31. or as i'm calling it, clone #1759.

I looked for about 6 months specifically for a soarer and spent far too much time on this site. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the info base here- it put me in the position where I knew more about the car than most of their owners did. Doug down at sports and luxury is an absolute legend, he was a huge help too.

I'm really happy with it so far, its got a LSD and one of the best sounding exhausts you will ever hear. I've changed it this morning from a straight through resonators on the end setup to a straight through mufflers on the end system- not as loud but the best burble and crackle i've heard in a long time.

I'll give it a wash tomorrow and get some pics up, i think i'll even do a youtube vid for the sound.

Until then, if anyone knows how the hell to get my fuel gauge working it would be much appreciated- it blinks like its full for about 5 mins, then shows empty (i've filled it up, but nothing changes). Gonna give the ECU reset a go tomorrow.

Hi..I'm looking to do something 'mild' with my exhaust for now..When you say you got the "straight through mufflers on the end system"..You mean, you have removed the mid section "mufflers/resonators"? so that only the rear section mufflers remain?

That's right Andrew, I'll take some pics of that as well. I knew bugger all about cars six months ago so excuse my terminology if its wrong. Its 2.5" cat back, with two separate pipes that go straight through to mufflers on the end. They're not the stock standard mufflers either.

I'll have to get a sound clip for you too.

Just did an ECU reset, gearbox seems to be sorted, fuel gauge still not working. Nothing happens when I press the fuel button either...

Thanks Alex. Yes, I like the wheels, but the current exhaust (not original as you probably know) looks very..."wrong”?. Whatever you do, get your exhaust guy to make sure those new cannon replacements sit right in the middle of the exhaust arches. Nothing devaluates the rear look of your car more, than exhaust tips being off centre with the skirt arches.

Those cannons just came off for the roadworthy because it was just too loud. The new mufflers (on in that picture) sound much better, just have to get some proper tips put on it now. Those piddly little things hanging off centre is really bugging me, but I'll have to wait a bit to fix them up.

The audio misses pretty much all of that deep burble, but you get the idea.

Alex, fuel gauge is an easy fix. The sender unit just needs cleaning. Check out planetsoarer.com for a step by step guide.

OK, look forward to see your final setup. I've been driving a GS430 here at the gold Coast while I'm staying at my friends place and I have to tell you that 430 is an amazing car. I think I'm becoming a real Lexus/Soarer fan.

Back inside now that i've flattened the battery...

Just pulled the back seat out to find (amongst other things) a radio expander unit.

I'm going to attempt the sender unit clean next weekend- I've got a full tank of fuel at the moment.

Thanks for all the comments, i think i'll put the resonators back on next week, and put the mufflers in further down in the system.

I'm not a massive fan of the wheels, so you might find them in the for sale section soon enough...

The cannons (or hotdogs as my uncle called them) are not going back on. Keep an eye on the for sale section...

Going to replace the current mufflers with some offset mufflers and some new tips, haven't decided on size/style yet.

I'm gonna give the stickers a miss for now Dave, I'm finding that passengers are less likely to mess with it if they don't know what the buttons do- unless of course it's Zimmer...

I love this car. Just went for a quick spin to show it off to one of the girls. She thought it was an 2005 or 2006 lexus- was asking me how I could afford something so nice...

Yes guys the exhausts are too small, and the cannons are too ricey, so next week the new mufflers and tips are going on.

Btw, Dave (the Australian kind) what are you talking about?
