i regret to inform you all of this great tragedy but my soarer had an engine fire...she will be missed. i recently bought an Aristo 3.0V, not as fast as the soarer but it will do...for now

It must have been God smiting you for covering your Soarer in rice stickers!!!
Nice Aristo though mate, there's only one thing you can do if you've got a perfectly good 2JZGE sitting under your bonnet... It's like a dormant volcano

Would this be a good time to think seriously about a fire extinguisher?, I am going to buy one tomorrow and mount it in the cabin where I can access it.

Yeah you're right Stuart, such an overlooked life saver. $30 now could save you tens of thousands in the future... I remember a sad story about a guy around wellington with a WRX (yeah I know, I hate them to) show car that he'd (by "he" I mean "his Daddy" ) had spent around 90k on, as far as rex's go, it was pretty nice, if not a little ricer (but that's beside the point), he was driving out in the middle of nowhere one night and a small fire started under the bonnet - just a loose positive wire earthing out on something. It spread pretty slowly, if he had a fire extinguisher and some masking tape he probably would have driven home... But alas, no. To cut a long story short, there was nothing salvageable from that charred wreckage. It was a cover car in NZPC magazine, Kiwi readers will probably remember it.

Hey, you had those silly rubber door guards too - I had one of those on my drivers side, but got rid of it. I figured if I ever got to the point when I actually needed it, it was time to go on a diet.
