Was just driving down to Melbourne from Ballarat. Got to Melton and noticed the sc400 hitting the bumps hard. Pulled over and the front right airbag was down. Thought I'd blown an airbag. Typical. Limped home and arrived at my mechanic's to find that everything was OK. All airbags working and at their normal set height. But the switch from high to normal settings on the TEMs is not operating. No click as you try to change. Anybody got any ideas. I'm new to these things. Cheers David.

On the outset it would seem that your switch is broken which is common and can be fixed with glue (search the threads). Im confused as to why you had one airbag low however. Are you sure it was low, sometimes it may appear that way if you are on uneven ground or have been over unusual terrain and have switched the car off before it can correct. Hitting the bumps hard could be a sign of worn shocks which is not always indicative of airbag failure. For instance my shocked are f'd but the airbags work fine.

Thanks Ben. No, just the one airbag was down. The guard was so low that turning the steering wheel scaped the tyre on that guard. And true, worn shocks are a fact of life, even if the airbags aren't leaking. I'm getting the switch checked next week. Hey Karyn, if you're in Ballarat, where do you get your services done. Cheers David.

The switch is a piece of pie to fix. My TEMS Sport switch died a week after I got my Soarer, here's how I was instructed to repair it:
Check out the centre console removal tutorial. Takes you 5 minutes the first time, it's dead easy. Then get the switch out, and mix up some nice heavy duty Araldite. I ripped the gauze bit out of the back of a band-aid, soaked that in the Araldite, glued the post back into the switch and carefully wrapped the gauze around the post. This takes a little bit of dicking around, but be patient and you'll get it right.
Put the switch somewhere safe, where cats/kids etc can't get at it, and leave it for a good 24-48 hours. If you need the car in the meantime, you won't do any harm in putting the stuff back together and driving around with no switch.
When it's set properly, put it back by reversing the procedure. Mine hasn't broken again, and I fixed it at the start of January.
Oh yeah - welcome! Good to see Soarers outside of Melbourne. I'm the sole Bendigo member around here... there are about 3 or 4 Soarers around town but none have cottoned on to this site.

Thanks Glen. Very much appreciate your input. Will follow your directions and cross my fingers. The TEMS can be a pain at times, and blown airbags ........ well? Uz331's huh. But I'd love to keep the car stock if I can. I've actually got a complete set of second-hand airbags just in case. But just the one bag dropping and then re-rising????? See if I can get this sorted first. Then chase up an EMV repair. Thanks to all for the welcomes and the assists. Cheers David.

Just want to thank a few people. To Glenn Muller and Ben Kelly, thanks for the advice on fixing the height adjustment switch on my UZZ31. All operational again, so thanks heaps guys. Also to Doug at Sports and Luxury Cars, you know your stuff mate. Turned out to be a slow leak in the RHF strut. I can't recommend these guys highly enough for over the phone advice. Off for a cruise now. Regards David.
