| Hi members, Stuart here, I have just bought a `92 GT Limited, what an impressive car, I now take the long way to drive to work. It was badly neglected, but now have it cleaned up and serviced. Previous owner lost his licence towing his drift car back across from Adelaide with it and got busted at 150Ks. I have had a lot of nice cars over the years but this one is a keeper. Next task here is to replace the factory exhaust to annoy the neighbours, then decide on a body kit (the front bar is damaged from previous owner hitting a truck tire retread on the road) This forum is a great resource, maybe I can add to it in the near future

| Welcome Stuart, glad to hear your enjoying your new car. Just hope the previous owner wasn't to harsh on it. Also i like the wheels, what are they? |

| Scott, The wheels are 9.5X18 rear and 8.5X18 front with 295-35 and 235-35 tires, rims have no brand- made in Taiwan. They look better in the photo. Scott Gates wrote on Sunday, June 29, 2008 - 05:39 pm:Just hope the previous owner wasn't to harsh on it.
Lack of maintenance was the biggest crime |

| I can feel your pain about the front bar. I destroyed one in my old R33 skyline thanks to a dead re-tread that flew off the truck next to me and into the path of my car at 110km/hr. My front bar was in 4000 pieces though hahaha. Ahh well. Welcome to the club mate, ive always loved the champagne coloured soarers , very classy indeed. |

| Haro, Thanks for the welcome, and welcome to you, I have read your previous posts from over there and I must say thanks for the job you all are doing. I see the Vietnam vets got a cheer also, they were not treated so great upon their return back then. I wasn't sure about the champagne color at first, however it does look classy and doesn't show the dirt |

I used to work with a woman whos partner was killed by a truck retread going through the windscreen of his car straight into his head, so I guess you were quite lucky! |

| Does anyone else find it ironic that the government will stop you using a pod filter but will still allow trucks to use retreads? |

| I can't part with mine. Despite the continuing increase in gas prices I just love the old girl. I am going into rim set number 3 now. I wish I could just get a lump sum figure so that I could trick it out. As far as cracked bumper I'm sure many of you will find www.fiberglassforums.com a very interesting site for DIYers. For those of you wanting to do some crazy ideas with your car in terms of audio and other stuff. |

I find that VERY amazing, I am a member of the Thunderbird club and I doubt there would be more than a couple of hundred members Australia wide and those cars were made from 1955 until 2002, they were the original "personal luxury" car

| Very nice! That's a huge barge! Huge blind spot out the rear quarter too by the looks. Love the colour and the engine bay. |

| Oooooo.........Very nice Stuart, California Black plates and still LHD (thank fook!) I detest RHD conversions, and thankfully if the car's 20 years old or over ewe don't have to convert it over here in Baa-Baa land. Before I bought the Merc I was eyeing up a 63 Roadster (genuine), but it was more than I could afford Love Thunderbirds (61 - 66 in particular)and owned a 76 model (ugly big bitch!), and C4 / C5 Corvettes.

I have since cut open the oil filter, apart from the amount of crap on the filter element from the extended oil change interval, the anti drain back valve does not seal, which would allow the oil to drain out of the oil galleries and delay oil pressure rise on start-up ( the valve is the black disc which should cover the holes under it)
