Hi everyone !
congratulations to this superb website !! My name is Bjoern, I´m from Hamburg / Germany! I bought my Soarer in the UK a few weeks ago ! The Soarer was just sold for a few months in Germany, so it´s quite unknown and everyone is watching her. She´s pearl white, with 18" aloys and beige leather. She´s fully loaded except the sunroof :-( The EMV Screen is dead and there´s no one in Germany to fix it, so I think I will send it in the UK for a repair. But driving her makes a lot of fun and YES... She´s delimited so I can let her run on the German Highways ( 160 MPH !!) and this makes a lot of fun, especially when I can tease the Porsches,BMW´s and AUDI´s.
I think there are just 10 Soarers in Germany, and I`ll have a lot of questions in the future and will thank you forward for your assistance.
cheers

Welcome Bjoern!
Excellent to have a member from Germany! I know of only one other. Sounds like you have quite a Soarer.
What a luck to have the autobahn in your back yard............ ohh! I'd love that with my V8 having no limiter too but gotta keep it safe and stick to our 62mph speed limit on the highway - Just have to leave it for the track and drags!

Bjoern from the "other" other side of the world!!! You should hook up with Rocka and start your own cruising club...German Style, lol. I'm sure he is looking for cruising mates. Cheers!

Wilcommen Bjoem! I hope I spelt that right!! Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your car, post em up!
Also, you should get yourself some club stickers for your car so that any other Soarer drivers in Germany can find this site and you can start organising cruises etc.

Do you have a soarer with digital dash or analog dials ??
I´ve seen on ebay, there are two companies in CA which are selling drilled and slotted brake discs and pads ( 180 US$) do you have any experience with them or heard about the quality ??? My Lexusdealer want`s to have 1200 US$ for a full set of brakes.!!!

Welcome...
last picture the car has a black front lip, in the others it doesnt?... has that been added or removed?
I'm guessing that pic was taken before import as the architecture in the building behind in the pic looks japanese, which would explain the vehicles behind.
Anyways, lucky you for havving an autobahn to play on... we are all envious

Hi Tim,
you`re right. It was a nightmare to get this car to Germany. I Bought it via the internet. It had the black lip when arrived, but for the german authorities I had to remove it, now it´s on the car again, but I think I will make it white.
the last pic is taken in Japan. When I have the time and the weather is a little bit better, than I try to make some pics here in Hamburg, but it´s summer so it´s raining all the time
But on the Autobahn she´s making so much fun and damned she´s so fast...... On my way home from work I have approx. a piece of 30 kilometers with no speed limit....

I have the analog dash...but my needles are fading and blinking. What part of Florida do you visit? I am only about 3 hours from the pan handle, or just 45 miles north of New Orleans. Any time I can get a chance the gf and I love to get away for the weekend on the beaches in Florida. As for the brakes...it really doesn't sound like a bad deal at all, imo. Try and source TRD racing ventilated discs, they might not be too far apart from that price. I've replaced my rotors and pads for approximately $1k USD. Sorry, I have not heard anything about that California dealer's reputation or quality...good luck with your search!

If I had the opportunity to pop on there I'd make sure my car was in tip top shape before hand, wouldn't want anything to go wrong!
It's a shame though in NZ there is nothing really like that which you can test your cars speed... a couple of tracks with a straight no more than 1000m or so and the odd drag strip... Only thing I can think of is having access to use an old unused air field runway!

But I don´t take my cars with me, so we have to play with your toys

Hi Mike,
I´m sorry for you!
But I don´t know, how long we have this possibility of free running the engines....
The green politicians are trying to make a permanent speed limit for the German Autobahn for 130 KM/H ( damned idiots...) Scientists have proofed that it makes definatley no difference for the environment to make a speed limit. cars that are running pullute the nature less than standing cars in a traffic jam.....
but the lobby of Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Ferrari, AUDI etc. will let them know who´s the boss in Germany
when you come over, you can take my car ( smile)
cheers

Yeah! Bloody Green politicians, they interfere far too much... But I'm sure the big German auto companies would have the last word really, you can take it away from them & their customers, its part of Germany!
How quick have you had your UZZ31 one up to by the way Bjoern?

Hi Mike,
the speedo has shown 167 MP/h this is approx. 260 KM/H but an damned idiot with his limited BMW (250 KM/H) has stopped me, I think she could run a little bit faster. I will try it next time, when I have new brakes and wheels. ( perhaps I can make a video for U-Tube...)
cheers

Hi Bjoern, In case no one has directed you to the fix it tutorials Here are the tutorials for removing the EMV / MVS and the Dash. You only need a phillips head screw driver for the screen plus a 13 or 14mm socket for the dash. The emv takes about 10 minutes even for mechanically inept person like me and about 15 to 20 minutes for the dash. http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/9858.html
