Just bought a '91 1JZ TT Soarer off RoryP. Only disappointment is the DIY mods are already done. Other than that, this is the most fun car I have driven. At the moment, I'm finding any excuse to drive the beast, or 'Flying Couch' as I have come to know it. Glad to say I am now a proud owner of a Soarer.

Heres the specs:
Soarer GT JZZ30 TT (1JZ)

Dump pipe
3" Stainless Exhaust
Gizzmo IBC
Pod Filter
SAFC II
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy M-spec Cooler
All up 188kw ATW

I'm in the process of chucking a modified Xbox under a seat with a solid state HDD (No damaging HDDs when giving it some beans), hook that up to the LCD in dash, with IR reciever, and Xbox controller ports located somewhere nice. Mainly for MP3s, but theres no reason why I won't be able to watch a movie, or even play a game on it :-)

Heres some pics, New Willunga Hill lookout

Looks familiar you say, that's because you have probably seen it on this site before.

Still haven't gotten over how good these cars are.
Take it easy people, hope to see you guys out there on the road :-)

What is a mvix player? I was going to go with a playstation 2 but I just realised of how much better an xbox with hdd would be. Big things though. You sure i will fit under seat?

Mines mounted in the boot on top of the cd stacker, and patched into the tv tuner.

Those Mvix things look like a good idea, games aren't a huge priority, a large mp3 collection is what I'm looking foward to, depending on how many hassles I have I may go with the Mvix. I wont be using an original Xbox case, they aren't ventilated well enough in a lounge room, let alone in a car. I will be mounting it in a slimline case from a security DVR. The HDD won't be the conventional HDD, it's just a chip that slots into the IDE channel socket, quite nifty really. Cabling and removing the dash etc is going to be the brick wall I run into, and I'm sure I'll be coming to you guys for a bit of advice.

You won't be removing dash to install it
TV Tuner is under the back seat, which is why it's easiest to install it into the boot.

Damn I feel stupid, we've got a product called a MediaGate we sell at work, looks exactly the same, can get a car kit for it too. Only problem is the on screen interface is a bit ugly and buggy. I'm considering using a 85aH sealed lead acid bettery with an inverter to run the xbox, however does anyone know the laws about non-car batteries installed, I have a feeling you can't do it.

OMG! I think I'm sold! Thank you Chris this is incredible. I dont have an EMV being a JZZ but i have a TFT deck so I suppose I could do it from there. And I see you can make playlists. Is that easy? Is that and other functions done with the help of your home computer?

Matt how much are those MediaGate's couldnt find a price on the site. Do they do the same?

Cheers for the pics, that's a hell of a lot better interface than on the MediaGate, but I have heard the newer ones have a bit more of a flash interface. Looks slick and easy.

I got the 5000R,(superseeded by 6000R) and hooked it into the tvtuner as found in the dvd player tutorial.
http://www.lexusclub.co.uk/lsocdvd.pdf
however in this walkthrough in section 4, number 6. It says to connect the right audio to red wire PIN 1.
This is incorrect.
I think it may have been pin 10?
You also need to get the optional car kit to hook into the power. I got all mine from circuit central.
Put velcro on the cd stacker in the boot and on the side of the 5000R and that holds it in place pretty well.
Any other questions, just ask :-)
