Hi guys, i got onto this great site a few weeks back while looking to buy a new car, and the info here is great. So, after looking at a Soarer with problems (suspension,electrical,interior...) I made an offer and great news, am now the proud owner of a sick soarer !
Here's a pic, thank god it does'nt look too bad !!
So, I will be making this my project for the next 12 months, and will try out some weird and wonderful new ideas for you all to see and leave interesting comments on.
Thanks
Alan
(ps, i should'nt tell u I'm an ex-mechanic who is mad...........)

Thats different! Most people would say after looking at one with problems I went out and bought this other mint example.

Thanks for the great comments guys ! Well, this is an ex-Melbourne car that has 140kms on it, and the outside is fairly straight !! Suspension was buggered (good old air struts) but after careful research on the forums I found a guy (Daniel) on here who luckily sent me some second hand parts to get it drivable.
Your going to hate me because I will fit a towbar this week (I am a builder and need to tow my trailer with all my gear... I know, how could I?)but i need the car to be practical and a project.
I would love to come to the cruise (already checked it out) but my wife is due to have our baby at the same time, so i had better not be off having fun with my car when she gives birth or I will be banned forever.... (and she already banned me from Playstation!!) but, next cruise I will be in!! Be great to meet other soarer fans!
Mods, well I'm an ex-mechanic who likes to try out unusual stuff. So, carpet (I am thinking an orange fabric customised by me.... its sounds worse than it will look...hopefully) Some decent interior lighting, fix the emv......
Engine.. other than servicing everything.. I have this fascination with an electronic turbocharger... yes I said electronic (as in electric motor with electronic controls...) I have found some components that may have some potential... this may work.. it may not, so i will share details as i do the work (i should mention I used to recondition turbochargers so I am fully versed in turbocharger operation)
My aim is to customise this car to something unique and different with features that you don't usually find anywhere else. Sounds crazy I know !!!
Anyway, thanks for the welcome, will chat to you all soon.
