Hi to you all Just arrived in this fantastic city and country and at last i own an SC400. I was going to buy one of these in the UK years ago but was put off by my local Toyota dealer parts department who disappeared into a back office when i said the word 'Soarer'. I arrived at Perth airport 6 weeks ago stepped outside and the first car i saw was an SC400, i said to the Mrs 'Thats the car i am getting' but she just growled at me after our 23hr flight. So here i am now with my SC400/V8/1991 and at $7500 i have a bargain! She has all the extras on TRC, TEMS, Rear spoiler, Moon roof and with only 72000kms it is immaculate. I have been banging on about this for 2 weeks since i got it and at last i have found some people to listen. Great site you have here already i have cured my air conditioning problem with your helpful tips. Now the bad bits with her (the car not the Mrs thats not so important) The speedo reading starts at 0-3-20-34-23-45-34-32-21-12 and then levels out at about 60 any ideas? I also have in the mornings what sounds like 'chirping birds' behind the dash cluster but after looking on this site i think it may be the nitrogen canister that does seem to over run at idle? I will be a regular visitor from now on. I must have walked 6km from the back door to the garage in the past 2 weeks just to keep looking at her, she just doesnt look 18 years old! Regards Jai

Welcome to the sunburnt land Jai (oh ok ...and wife lol) The soarers Nice and clean hope you have a nice sounding exhaust to match the V8. I have heard some that sound mint. Perths a tricky place when it comes to Soarer mechanics, alot of people will say they know how to deal with soarers but they just know they can sometimes get away with ripping you off because it's an import. If you live south of the river than I can help with a few good mechanics that work on my soarer and the thing has never missed a beat after they fixed the problem. I'm going on my first run this Friday 20th Feb so if you come to that one both of us can pop our cruise cherries.

Good stuff, they're a great car to own. I have a similar beast! Gotta love all the stuff that the UZZ31 had in it for the time it was made! Mine needs an exhaust bad - I'm used to the power already and want more. Plus a BFI and chip, hehe!
