Wow - overwhelmed by comments!! Yeah, love the rims...
Manual conversion is almost complete - but it has been 3 months of the road! But that is due to money and gathering all the info... Then I need to replace cam belt and water pump - just trying to find out who to go to - quotes seem to vary heaps

Don't know if Marlborough counts though - last time I went there the weather was perfect - mind you never been there in Winter, so it might be hard man material then!

It's pretty nasty when your doing battle PT in minus 3 degrees and holding metal bars...That were left out for the night. My hands were really impressed!

Hey April, I have heard a bit of stuff about that car, not too shure if it is true though. That Soarer has/had a locked diff back then and I was told the rear subframe needed to be replaced after that comp? Mean skid and it deserves that trophy and number plate. Welcome to the community!

Yeah, still has the locked diff, the rear subframe did need replacing, not after that comp though, just after a year or so having the locked diff. That has been done with the manual conversion too though. Ha ha - that plate is cool, but its not mine, its my partners, belongs on his car normally.

What box have you gone with? My brother is looking at converting his, but every one has mixed opnions as to what type of box he should get. Should get a meet happening some time so every one can get to know one another and their cars better......

Would be interesting to see how that lasts, been told repeatedly that any W series box wont handle much and fail, just depends on how you drive it and going by the top pic its not going to be nanner'ed??

Really? I didn't do a lot of investigating, but was told it should be pretty tough coming out of a ute. No, not going to be nanner'ed so hoping it will last!!

A Ute box will be designed to handle lots of torque and not so much power. In theory it should be pretty tough but hard acceleration and rapid gearchanges is something it might not deal with well.
