Hi All,
I have been looking for a new car for a while and I have liked the Soarers for a while, and the deal was sealed when I came across an excellent condition completely stock 1992 silver jzz30 with 78000kms on the clock. I had looked at many Soarers in the Sydney area and this was by far the best condition one I had seen and driven and I had my mechanic friend give it a complete look over and test drive before making the purchase. It also has cruise control which I believe to be a rarer feature on the JZZ30.
I am completely enthralled and amazed with the car and its condition, and it still amazes me that this car is so well built yet was built around the same time as a VN.
My plans for the vehicle are to add some minor enhancements to it, get new wheels, rebadge the car (someone removed original badging and put lexus ones on instead) to its original condition, get a LSD installed and upgrade the exhaust and intake on it.
I was wondering if experienced JZZ30 Soarers out there can give me some tips in keeping my car in top shape and what to look out for if problems develop?? I plan to get it serviced every 5000km's and send it in for a 100,000km service when it reaches that date, as I believe doing this will minimize costs for me in the long run. I was initially looking at the v8 versions, but I thought that going for a coil spring model would help minimize problems down the track, and so far I am pleased with my choice in the extra performance the JZZ30 has.
Also if you guys had any ideas where I should hunt for some Soarer badges I would greatly appreciate it. I am in need of the front griffin badge, the rear Soarer and Toyota badges and the side GT-T badges in good condition.
I hope to get to know you guys and I am grateful for any tips and knowledge you may impart on me as a member of this community

welcome, sound likes you got a good buy, main things are oil changes, i would suggest to drop all oil's and filters and start fresh, i do this with every car i get, then i know everything is right. even a new set of plugs. do a ecu reset disconnect the battery for 5 min. and you should be good to enjoy.
and cruise control, i think is standard right through the full range.. cause i think mine is the pov one and it has it..? i might be wrong, but enjoy the site, there lots of info here.

Welcome Owen.
Not sure about this saving money business...All I know is that once you own a soarer and get used to the power you then want more and that costs money so save those pennies and work on that turbo upgrade lol. Good luck and yeah pics for us soarerphiles.

Welcome and good buy. Post up pics mate. The cruise control was not too rare as it is on most soarers maybe beside the jzz31 which was the bottom of the soarerchain. Also I have all those badges for sale. Send me a PM.

This is the cheap option and if you don't want to add too much extra power the safe option. No extra upgrades with this setup like Auto trans shift kit, 440cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, FMIC (if you don't already have one) piggy back comp, maybe new pistons and shafts plus bearings and seals, and many more extras that would come from a single setup. Will has gone the safer and cheaper option that keeps the budget in check. You can have the steel wheel version put in for around $3000- $3500 depending on where you live in Aus. Approx $1200 per turbo plus GST and Fitting.
