Hi every one,
My name is James but my mates call me Jimbo. I brought a 1991 UZZ31 gold/champagne Soarer back in late May, early June last year. I have always used this site as a reference for any problems or handy tips. I would normally be spotted driving around Auckland espically the Mt Albert area. I have a younger brother who owns a 1992 UZZ30 dark green soarer who is an apprentice mechanic so he's always helpfull to have around. Any way about my pride and joy, I have put some silver 17" TOM's racing wheels on it, the old open diff decided it had enough so there's now a Torsen LSD sitting in there and for my christmas present from my brother (good bugger), I got a 2.25" cat back exhaust with two Audi RS6 mufflers. It's the same exhaust that a current member on here had on his soarer, and in my opnion it surpasses any other aftermarket exhaust so it's Mike's loss and my gain. I will try and upload a picture of my pride and joy so that if any one recognisies me they should give me a wave or a toot. I am always keen to stop and have a bit of a chin wag so dont be afraid to drop a line.
I would like to say thank you to the creators of this site and to any one who has/will provide me with any information in reguards to mine and my brother's cars.
I look forward to meeting some of you and your cars and as I said before dont be scared to drop a line.
Cheers

Hey James.

Nice car, glad to see my Exhaust went on a decent Soarer!

Haha, yeah selling it.

I just put it up on TM this evening, so selling as whole! Hope I can get what I'm after - its good value next to the rest on TM. :-)

YES...... A BMW, something different and more expensive to run! I thought why not, I have had had 4 Soarers over the years so it was time to try a out a new toy.

Oh really, fitted already? That is excellent! Hope it goes nicely.

Hmmm this time I dont know, I'm rather bored of them to be quite honest. :-)

Would quite like an old Toyota Cressida though, as a cheap inconspicuous cruiser I don't have to worry about if it gets a car park dent.

car park dents tend to hunt you out, Mike, if i remember correctly.

Also i've seen alot of lowered Cressidas with loud exhausts recently, so think someone has already beat you to the punch on setting that trend.

Saw this unique Beemer on trademe, no doubt you've seen it by now:

My money is on you selling the BMW within 6 months, if not sooner. :-)

More than likely, most cars I own last 6-12 months before I get bored :-)

Meh, its boring.

I like to just buy and sell.

Try it out, and fling it off for more! Called money making.

Might buy a Soarer next and sell that quick smart once again.

Hmmm might get a 323/325i E36 - Rather dull car but I feel the need to try something simple but still decent mechanically thats not too expensive - I cant bring myself to buy any dull Jap car currently unless its a soarer. Ew!

But yeah, I'll see how that goes... still need to get my starter working so I can get the soarer back on the road - only thing thats holding it up! Ehhh

I actually would have quite liked a Range Rover HSE 4.6 4x4 but they are a little too much of a headache with the low build quality and electrical issues - not to mention the leaks! So not something I would bother with.

Yeah the Ranges are a joke when it comes to the reliability-but the drive is great. Get the 4.0 it's wicked.

Only 4x4 I ever fancied was a Jeep Wrangler, but they are also terribly built.

And its a Buick V8 - Rover just licenced the design =) It is a great engine though.
