Gutted, Matt. You and your Soarer have had a run of bad luck over the years. Keep us posted with what you plan to do with it as I've got some cash at the moment.

NOOOO
Matt Sharpes 3.0GT, sorry to see that Matt!
Its always a shame when things like this happen but they do, like my poor UZZ31's Cop rear 1/4 collision back in October.
I'm waiting for someone to run into my 540i anytime soon, already had a few idiots nearly clip me.
Oh by the way Mark I saw you driving up through Greenlane the other day, followed you for a couple of 100 meters in my 540i, your car looks next to new!

Not sure if I want the car fixed or not... on one hand its been a great car for 4 years now, on the other hand I should probably think about having a family car now.
Aristo is a nice family car. Your Soarer doesn't look to badly damaged.

Yes, it'll be missed =( It was a very good, reliable and fun car.
Aparently it'd likely need a whole new nose, as once the collision bar is bent they can't do much with it. Top tank on the radiator is smashed and a lot of the air con piping is damaged.
I'm thinking 3 litre Altezza Gita wagon, seen a few 2002-2004 models around in my price range... Will see what happens over the next few days.

Hey if they write my Soarer off & you have a set of factory wheels, I'd be happy to swap for my Supra 16" with 245/50/R16 Hankook HPR II's (about 5mm left on the tread) and 225/50/ZR16 Yokohama A-Drive R1's which are brand new, plus some cash. The Yokohama's were $396 fitted, the Hankooks were something like $380 fitted, but if anyone wants to do the trade I'd take the old wheels (as long as they have tyres on them, don't care if the tires are legal or not, long as they will fit a Soarer) and $300. PM me if anyone wants to.

I've decided against the V8 Evan, pouring money into my TT seems a bit more like me at the moment. I just got some new tyres on the back (yay) because I'm off to Hamilton tomorrow. So if any of you Hamilton boys see me around come say hi!

Thanks Don =) Well, she is to be repaired - $4000 + GST worth of work.
Apparently the assessed value was $8,000-$10,000 because its in "such good condition" Alan the panel guy who I've known for years says it'll be good as new so I'm happy with that, he wouldn't give me any bullshit.
There is some talk of me contributing towards the new radiator, but as it was fine before the hit, and you can clearly see where the top tank was hit during the accident, so I'm not going to wear that! I'll let you know how I get on with my argument with them. Right now my claim worker couldn't tell me anything.
Unfortunately it'll be in for at least a week as the whole front will be resprayed - don't know how thats going to fly with my move to Hamilton, might end up having to hitch a lift up to Auckland just to pick it up! Plus side is I'll get them to respray the rear wing at the same time so that'll be all the oxodised paint gone, and she'll be living in a nice garage from now on so it should stay that way for a while.
Oh well, at least I'll get to enjoy the new amp I put in just last week now too!
Thought about an Aristo or a Celsior, but we really need at least one wagon. We'll still trade Julie's Primera in on something a bit quicker and more reliable, but it'll be under $10,000 now, so the Altezza Gita is out.
