Hey everyone!!! My names Shadi from Melbourne and i purchased my 91 soarer TT for $6000!!! I have been on Soarer Central two weeks before i purchased my car researching them, Love what all you guys do on this site, let me just tell you SC is ma homepage!!!

The Car drives like a dream, feels and looks better than a million european cars!!

My soarer comes with TEMS, Pole light, shake n bake mirrors, LCD rear view mirror, ajustable rear headrests, 17" rims, catback exhuast, BLITZ dual stage turo timer(which shows boost), open diff, auto, pod filter....... WAIT, wait for it, the ultimate mod ma car came with was a recent rebuild of both turbos to steel wheel!!!!

Since buying the car I have upgraded the sound system myself to 7" dvd player, double din(eonon of ebay) with reverse camera, two amps and capacitor, cadence Z5000 750w RMS powering 12" cadence wild beast sub and pioneer 500w RMS powering kenwoods 6x9" and stock 4" in doors! PUMPS HARD!!!

I also purchased 97 taillights which are on the way and have a remote start alarm with lcd view warning up to 2k, will be put in in the next week!

My turbo timer currently tells me at max boost i run about 12.5-13.5 psi, on rear occasions 14psi tho(i think it hits boost cut though)
Just want to know is this normal with the mods my car has?

Iam planning on pushing it to do 12 sec 1/4 mile.
My upgrades will be:

-HYBRID GT SPEC intercooler 3" piping
-Blow off valve, not sure what type though as i want it to sound like tshuuu tshuu tshu, any Suggestions to make it sound like that?
-Stage 1.5 shift kit
-AVCR Boost controller
-G-reddy Pigyback ECU
-Dyno tuned to 18-21psi
Pretty sure high 12s are achievable with these mods as iv read on SC people have done high 12s with these mods on stock turbos, i have got the steel wheelies so should be an advantage!
Let me know what you all think though!!

Here are some pictures!!!

Sounds like your boost has been upped, 1jz's do about 7psi out of the factory. My car has steelies, front mount, pod etc and it's only boosting 11psi.

As far as wanting a sequential b.o.v, just take you're standard one off of plumb back, it'll make the exact noise you're looking for. You'll have to block up the hole in you're intake pipe though, not a big job.

If you want to put so much power through it I'd suggest an L.S.D, I've got 10 inch wide wheels on the back of my car and I still can't get great traction...

You could spend all that money on computers and all that but remember, 1JZ's are MAP sensored so they're very easy to power up without changing the standard computer. You've already got the most expensive part - steel turbines, you'll probably find with a 3" turbo back exhaust, twin dumps and a nice big front mount you'll pull 12 seconds easily.
And piggy back computers are nasty, they're only really good if you want to build a vtec turbo or something.

Good luck anyway, keep us posted on progress.

You reckon its been boosted by a manual boost controller in the engine bay, or by other means?

Would i pull 12s with these mods on the boost i have now, or boosted, if so to what psi? wont i need a shift kit also?

Welcome Shadi, great to see the enthusiasm you have for your new ride. Best thing about these cars is that the enthusiasm tends to stay with you much, much longer than other cars. Enjoy the Soarer Grin.

Nice looking car too!

Ahhh crickey lol ummm I have no pics, but your factory b.o.v is the round grey thing on the left of where your plastic air intake connects to the metal piping that goes to the turbos. You'll need to unbolt it etc, it's pretty straight foward but it looks ugly as hell. Sounds cool though. I've had a few beers though mate so I'll explain the rest tomorrow if one of the other boys don't beat me to it :-)

Ok Shadi - it's great that you're so enthusiastic and all the, but rule number one about turbo cars is that winding up the boost isn't the be all and end all, a good tune is a much better way to get power. Like adjustable cams, you'd get more benefit from a set of those than you would from a boost controller.

I wouldn't be able to say for sure what sort of controller you have/don't have. It's be easy to spot if there is one under the bonnet.

Ok - Plumbed back means that rather than making a "pshh" noise when you take your foot off the gas, you get nothing because it's venting in to your intake pipe. To take your b.o.v off of plumb back you need to unbolt it from the intake (near the rear turbo) and just make that black rubber hose face another direction. You need to bolt something over the hole where the b.o.v was otherwise you'll get sh!t in your turbines and that's not good. *I just cut a small piece of aluminium to shape and screwed it on. It doesn't need to be strong, it's only on the air intake so nothing is pressurised. So, with about 5 minutes of work you now have the noise you're after.
