Hey Ya'll
I have owned my sc400 for around 8 weeks.
92 v8 with 150k in that white/pearl. 17" rims. im at work at the moment so will upload some pics when i get home. unfortunately the previous owner wasn't so honest and yesterday my transmission died. well almost. I had it looked at this morning and when we took the base off the transmission shards of metal were very very present, traces of sand and something that looks like... well i don't even know. ha ha. i can only assume that the previous owner thought it was an offroad vehicle.
was quoted 3k to have it fixed which is a kick in the guts but i'm not disheartened at all, i still love my Soarer. just can't wait to get it back.

yeh dont pay 3k buddy. Just find a 2nd hand unit which there are a few of floating around... buy a shift kit (as its a good idea to do whilst its off) and get LEW to install it all for you.
He will do the rear main seal also at the same time which makes sense. All up i reckon it will be more like 1500 ! IF that
Great looking car mate. My new soarer welcome was a 100k service which I was told had been done and coil leads which had been wrapped in electric tape to stop them shorting! Doh! But its worth it, the V8s are a pleasure to drive.

Hey guys.. thanks for the advice. Managed to get a trannie with 80,000k for $700 which included a new torque converter. So thats a bit better than 3k $600 to install. so cheering. All up just short of 1500. Cheers james 2 more days and i will be back on the road.... WOOHOO...

Awesome, thanks heaps. Hey was wondering, where would i go to get clear indicators for the front bar. you know the ones on the side. I saw them on an american model and they look really RAD.

Welcome Shaun. James is the events guru for SE Queensland and I'm sure he'll be organising another soon. If he doesn't then I guess it's up to me. Clear indicators come up all the time in the US on ebay. If you have trouble getting someone to say they will deliver to Australia, then that can be taken care of also as there is a member over there who will take care of it. See you on the next cruise.

Thanks mike. Will definitely keep my eyes and ears open for the next cruise. Looking forward to it. I drove down to my parents on the blue mountains at Easter after having the car for a couple of weeks.. Had alot of fun driving down there. I owned a 97 Ford LTD 5ltr before the Soarer, so it was nice to travel in something that sat on the road more like a sports car, rather than a land yacht.
