Hello all.

My name is Luke and I live in Mt Gambier, SA.

After a few months of looking at car after can online I finally decided it was a soarer I wanted so I drove up to Adelaide to look at a few. Took one for a drive yesterday that I wasn't impressed with. Drove one today, loved it, put a deposit down, picking it up Saturday.

Didn't take any pics so i've pillaged the ones off the trading post until I take some myself.

The Good
- It drives beautifully, has a nice note but not too loud [which is good as im over the cop attention my R31 gets].
- It has a nice headunit already installed with a bit of a system I havn't looked at much yet
- All the electrics work
- Will have a very cean interior when ive attacked it with a vaccum and a cleaner

The Bad
- Needs a epic wash and polish, should look great once thats done
- Fan surround is munted which has broken chunks out of the fan. Still keeps temperature well but looks like If its an easy enough job to replace ill get onto that, if not it will get tidied up atleast
- Some Gutter rash on otherwise god nick wheels
- Passenger side electric mirror wont come back up from the passenger controls. But will from the drivers side, must be a dodgy wire somewhere
- Few interior bits need sixing back in place
- That bag of air freshener has leaked and stuck to the dash. Going to have great fun getting that off and looking clean
- Headlights need a good clean with scratchX
- Steering wheel is out of alignment, hopefully fixed when I get a wheel alignment ASAP.

So yeah has no Major issues, just gonna need some TLC to get it up to my high standard I like my cars at.

Now to start planning what I want to do to it. So feel free to throw any suggestions/comments my way.

Hope to get to know and meet some of you soon :-)

Looks nice, well done. I'd suggest some eucalyptus oil might help to remove that air freshner bag and any residue it's left. There is at least one other club member in Mt Gambier (or near by) as well. Welcome to the club.

Yeah I was thinking Eucalyptus oil would be the go. Fingers crossed.

Also got to attack the rear window, has had either some tint or a sticker removed which has left residue all over the window. Should come off with so turps or similar.

Looking forward to getting stuck into it over the weekend.

Actually the eucalyptus oil will get the adhesive residue from the sticker off as well. I'd avoid turps as it may have a negative effect on your tint.

Welcome Luke,

Metho works good on cleaning gunk off windows.
Give the eucy oil a go on the windows, then finish off with metho and water mix.

Hi Luke, sorry to be the bearer of bad new but I test drove that too and the turbos are pretty FKD, they didn't spool up till almost 5k rpm and the clutch fan was completely shattered. I told the fella that he needed to fix it before anyone would buy it.....

yeah the clutch fan needs replacing, not too worried about that. I talked him down in price so I can get that done.

I didnt notice a problem with the turbos, but I didnt get a huge test drive as it was peak hour. Although when I did put my foot down it didnt feel bad.

Now im worried...... worst case scenario whats a set of replacement turbo's go for? all these people going big singles must do something with the stock twins right?

EDIT: Had a quick poke through the F/S section and it seems about $350 is the norm. Well I talked the guy down quite a bit more than that so thats made me feel a bit better. I was considering upgraded turbos anyway so it might just move them up the priorities list.

Thanks for pointing it out though mate. Much appreciated

Not a problem, the guy that was selling it was a bit of a goose, I do hope the turbo's are ok, and I loved the 350Z rims and still love them. The compliment the car. Anyways if you need help fixing anything let me know and I will give you a hand

ah so they're 350 rims, I was thinking R34 GT-T. They do really suit the car, shame they have a bit of rash on them, but what can you do.

Yeah the turbos seem fine, come on nicely at 3k. Fingers crossed they stay that way until I can get around to getting a pair of hi-flows. Hopefully before the summer where the Portland and Coonawarra drag strips are running again.

Still got alot of things to fix up on it, like re wire the stereo completely, whoever put it in made a right mess which has resulted in terrible sound quality.

Thanks for the offer of help mate, if I get into any trouble ill certainly give you a yell.

Like Drew said before, as I recalled when I test drove it, definitely needs work but good luck Luke, hope it all works out fine and that you got it at a bargain price!
