Hey guys just bought my first Toyota Soarer yesterday.
It's a 1992 model with the 1jz-gte twin turbo motor in it.
Mods so far:
19" wheels (don't know the brand yet) 3" turbo back exhaust. Pedders sports ryder suspension all round with new bushes install on the front suspension arms. It's got some crappy subs and amps in it at the moment.
I don't know much about the Soarers, but i have been in the turbo scene for awhile. I've had a Nissan S13 and have modified it a fair bit.
I bought the Soarer for a cruiser/vip style car but had a fair bit of poke to it as well.
I haven't got any pictures yet but once I've taken it to the car wash ill get some up.

Mate! Yeah get those pic's up mate! hahahaha ..... All the info you need is hear and most things are cover'd,use the search feature to find info on what you need.. But if it ain't there then ask mate.... Once you start on moding your soarer... You will leave the S13 for dead... hahahaha.. With the right mod's you can pull 12's in the soarer even with the car's weight of 1600kg's

@ Karen. Yeh i put a pod filter on and i used a grommet to connect it up. I went over a bump and the pod fell off and sucked up the grommet :S
@ James. Yeah for sure man! Ive got a heap of mates that we all go for cruises with. Most of them have 180's, s13's and skylines but Throw us a pm when you wanna go for a cruise.

Hey guys thinking of doing somewhat of a budget single turbo conversion to my soarer by slowly buying all the parts one by one.
From what ive gathered this is what ill need/be buying for the conversion.
Manifold - Unsure on which one to get yet? what do you guys recommend? Custom made?
BA XR6 Turbo - GT3540, Has an internal waste gate so i wont have to worry about external gating/screamer pipe. Also has potential for big power outputs from what ive read.
Dump pipe - Custom made probably?
Supra Injectors - Ive read these fit into the Soarer and are bigger then the stock Soarer ones. Shed a little light on that guys not to sure about this either.
E-Manage Blue / Apexi SAFC II - For tuning the car to handle the bigger injectors. Either of these will be sufficient. Any input on which one is easier/better to tune the Soarer with is welcome.
Good FMIC + Piping - Can anyone steer me into the right direction here for a good intercooler kit setup for the Soarer?
Turbo tech boost controller - Setting it to 1 bar of boost. Im not going for huge power so i don't think ill need anymore then this.
Ill be buying probably the items in this order, Cooler, MBC, PB ecu, Injectors, Turbo, Manifold.
Putting the cooler and boost controller on for stage one, then ecu and injectors for stage two, then finally the turbo and manifold.
Is there anything im missing? If so post up what you think i may need.
Ill be looking to spend around 3k i reckon. But it will all be worth it in the end.

If I was to get a turbo mate I would buy new.. A garrett gt35/40 with a .82 or 1.06 rear housing... Now with this turbo it has potential of big power and it is up to you how far you want to take it.. There is a lot of factors in play here.. Ecu,I would recomend emanage ultimate or a piggyback ecu like adeptronic,Haltec.. There is manny brands.. Injector's,Well again it come's down to what power you want to get.. 260kw's is easy on 440cc's and they are as you say drop in's from a supra.. But if you want to get to 300kw's you will need larger injectors.. 550cc's should get you there.. Now the biggy.. If you want to get to 300kw's then you will have to beef up your auto gearbox.. It won't handle anything above 270kw's for a prolong time... FMIC.. Greddy do a streight fit and are well priced and also a hybrid is equally good.. Boost controller,Go for a electronic one... greddy profec B(cheepest option) if your only going to go to 1bar then really a 35/40 is not the turbo for you as your not using it's potential.. I bought a 30/37r with a .63 rear housing and managed 267kw's at 1.2bar. With manifold I would recomend buying a good brand like the one I bought from GCG in sydney.. Less hassles and a streight fit..
Now the $ your looking at.. Sorry mate but there is no real cheap way out.. I did my labour myself and it still blew out to just over 5k just for the turbo conversion.. Not including ECU and manual conversion.. All I have to say mate is do it right the 1st time and buy good quality parts, as using second hand parts or cheap brands can and will end in tears..

$283 delivered to my door took two working days. I was very pleased with the result. I went into Repco and Bursons to get quotes on stock rotors and the quoted me $400 each lol, I told em where to go ;)
