gday everyone! my names walter gillmore. ive been veiwing this site and have been gathering information on the good old soarer for a couple of months now. my interest sparked in these cars initially just for the 1uz as i am building a celica drifter. i purchased Tim Ross' '50rra' only to have a pathfinder smash into it once i had finilized payment , this has allowed me to buy the engine off tim for cheap. (damaged) but also left me with a big hole in my heart as i was really starting to warm up to the idea of being a soarer owner...
i have recently just purchased a black tt 95 soarer and am in the process or resurrecting the old girl . its got 95000k's on the odo and needs some TLC as someone had smashed all the glass and headlights/ tailights with a hammer and also placed a few dents on the body with said hammer
i am a fitter/ turner/ fabricator by trade (glorified welder ), and live on the west side of bris from what i have gathered over the past few months all you lot on here are decent helpful people. glad to have finally joined the ranks

hahaha cheers mike yeah bloody crazed mc hammer fan! decided to go hammertime on the whole car inside and out. thankfully only a couple of dents on the body, holes in the fibreglass wing. all glass (hence interior is stripped out to vaccum all the glass up) no real biggy

cheers for the warm welcome guys. cant wait to get her going and go on cruises with my lounge on wheels
bring it on timmeh!! LETS DANCE!
i do think that if it wasnt for said hammer thug.. then i would not have picked this car up for the price i did. came with all glass replaced and replacement lights front and rear. starts and runs fine. although it will need the timing belt done pretty soon.

Are you planning on a respray?
If so, I can give you my old bootlid... its dark green and a bit scratched... however the spoiler is in perfect condition, and there's no dents on it (or badges either)

doesnt need much of a respray man the dent is minor on the boot as you can see in the pic. its where the badge should be, dent on the drivers door looks like it was done with the claw end of the hammer and the holes in the wing, im thinkin about removing the wing altogether. the whole car has about .5cm of dust preserving the paint. hahahaha i'll have yer boot gas struts if you still have those in good nic

cool cool. i'll be leaving the outside cosmetics till last. rwc and rego will be first before fixing up the dents and stuff, if you still have that door and boot in a couple of months ill have em oh! have you got power mirrors? passenger side?

ok guys more progress pics of the poor black beast.
1st pic. here is one of the pair of mirrors i purchased from one of our members. extremely disappointed when i opened to box to find the passenger mirror (which i needed) had the base of it chipped off. not too worry i thought, i'll swap bases.
2nd pic: when i eventually got to the car to commence more work, i found out that to remove the base from the mirrors i had to cut the plug off anyway and join them back together.. no biggy. works a treat
3rd pic: tail lights in. not 95 model tho
4th pic: passenger door card and trim can now go back on as i have done the mirror , these took a lot of washing down abd cleaning to bring them back up to scratch. dirt and mildew deposits everywhere!

5th pic: carpet laid, amp remote rca's and power cables run underneath carpet, back seat thrown in after much cleaning. still needs some shampoo'n
6th pic: glove box lid removed to attempt recovering myself. dash has a largeish rip and the woodgrain as well, all from said hammer thug. will do the dash and woodgrain once i get the beast to my house as i have tims dash painted ready to go in.

i have also managed to get the keyless entry working. not sure about the immobiliser yet.holding back on putting the drivers side door card on as the glass wont go up and down fully, and the screw that hold the sliding rail for the glass has been stripped will have to drill it out and retap it i think. also. gettin the bloody headlights out seems like a major pain! am i missing something or does it require removing the whole front bumper assembly and front guards?
also here is a sneak peak at my car pc build, installed to check for clearance, note the usb connections where the cup holder should be. just flipped the existing cap in there around so that it holds the usb connection tightly in place i shall start a new thread for the pc build once its done, touchscreen arrived yesterday and has been tested sweet it is now in pieces. hehehe. also note the smashed climate control unit. took it apart and its not a simple matter of replacing the lcd unfortunately

hahaha possibly mitchell the dude who i bought this off. his missus has a boss bullet silver 2.5gt-t and a supercharged bullet 4L one as well. she paid 38g's for the latter.
he also used to own a car yard.. so that might have something to do with the hammer thug's anger??

ok. so ive just lost my job due to lack of work ive spent all the cash i have on soarer bits and pieces and it looks like i wont be able to afford rwc and rego until i get another job in the pipeline.... so now purchasing of parts must stop as i have no more money at all!!!! workin on the beast wont stop, it just wont be up to the standard i was hoping to have her up to before i drive her around
