Hey guys! though i better post up here with a update,
Sure i had a thread ages ago but i cant find it !
Anyway i drive a 2003 silver IS300 mainly around the northern beaches area. So far the following is my mod list (plus a few others i have forgoten):
18" Work VSXX (8" 235mm 9" 265mm) MC Gard Lugs Tein CS Coilovers (Big drop, rears maxxed out) TRD Yellow Sway Greddy Panel filter and oil filter 5zigen LAX Touring Exhaust (extreamly rare non made for a almost non existant car, the 2jz Altezza Gita) Custom Air Diversion plate Grom. Ipod adaptor JL 12w3v3 + amp
Next in line for the car was going to be a full vertex body kit but priorities changed so now i am making a big push to get na-t Recently bought a gte bottom end and have taken the pistons and rods out (needed to lower the compression) but this list to buy is still very long

Ah ok! Yeh i kind of like it that way there isnt alot of clearance under the guards any more as the rears a running 265 tyres (stock is 215) But the guards have been rolled. It is very low but i like it that way.
I have been thinking of lowering the front 1cm or so and raising the rear about the same but i havn't decided yet.
I'm guessing you don't like it :p each to their own i guess

It's not that I don't like it Troy, on the contrary I think the stock car looks absurdly high. It is that you are damaging the car's handling, probably more than grip gains from a lower CG. There is a thread about it around here somewhere. Search for eyebrow or eyebrow height.
Your car is also illegal in NSW, which can turn out to be a problem.

Thanks David ill have a look into it I think there are a few after market products around to help counter center of gravity changes so that the arms all sit level again.
Even with this height i still havnt driven a car with better handeling its amazing through the twisties I have driven a boxter and still prefer the handeling of the IS300 but i think i might be a bit bias ;)
You right about the stock height, Not sure what happend at Toyota with the IS, Have you even seen a stock Altezza? they height is still up a bit but looks much better as it is even. I think maybe the over compensated for the weight of the iron block 2jz?
Colin, That GS300 looks amazing! really nice job you have done there, From what i can see you did a full engine swap for the vvti gte? or is it just the head?
Im planning on using the go block and putting the gte internals inside already have the gte pistons and rods, then get a custom manifold/dump etc and a nice big single ( T04z or T51r are on the possibles list but i need to do some more research ).
What are you using for engine management? i was thinking of just a piggy back like the emanage ultimate just so i dont have alot of work with wireing etc ( there is a company in the US that makes a plug and play harness )
Im getting a almost new 2jz-ge tomorrow ( 4000km! ) so the plan is to build everything around that and then just swap them and get a tune hopefully all goes well
Would love to check it out and have a ride! ill have to give you a call some time

Perhaps being a wagon, they tend to be bought by people that wouldn't usually join a car club (i.e, family types) - definitely seen quite a few for sale as I was keen on buying one a couple of years ago. Actually back then there were more 3 litre Gita's around than 2 litre.
