I've been lurking on this website for a few months now maybe... Thought it was time to say hello heh. Want to create some other topics to see if anyone is interested in a stock amp and 12 disc changer, but this has to be the first topic!
Just wanted to thanks to everyone and the guides and all that as I've basically found so much information on here to help me out.
I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to car stuff but I am learning!
Oh and I have a 1992 Auto GTTL (I didn't know anything about the car really before even buying it... just simply went off of the horse power hahaha). But I lucked out and got power seats and the amp in the trunk (I'm currently working on some ICE, can't wait to finish!). Car came with 66,000km on it. I'll have to post a link to a pic later I guess since I don't have access at work right now.

I have been noticing a lot of Canadians lately as I search through the posts... Wondering if they are still around. Even some from my city heh. I'm in Edmonton if anyone cares to know =P
And here's some pics. Maybe this could be like my document spot of things I'm doing to the car (other than my facebook album) and I can get some tips and such.

Yeah I am so in love with my car haha. I'm pretty sure everywhere in the world except England, Japan, and India drive on the left side. It is legal to import cars 15 years or older in Canada (something about protecting local business I think). And when they get here, they just need to be super clean (soil examination) and they don't even have to comply with every new regulation as it would be impossible for some I'm sure. But there is an out of province inspection to pass which is a little tight sometimes. Sounds like you guys in Australia have it way harder with all sorts of silly regulations.
It did come from the USS Auctions yeah. It actually had a 4.5 auction rating which seems pretty unheard of. The car was basically flawless except for a tiny tiny paint chip on the hood (bonnet?) and a super tiny dent that isn't even visible unless you look from the right angle on the driver side rear quarter panel. One of the main vents above the a/c is cracked a tad (I think I've seen other soarers with this) as well as the driver door area right next to the window control has a little cut or something...
Anywho, there is a local guy here in Edmonton that has mechanics and a yard out in Japan and he imports them. The car at auction was like $3300 CAN and the importing was about $3500 (including a $1000 fee for the guy doing it all). So not a bad deal at all. It was going to be my winter car but right after I got winter tires, we had the craziest snow fall and it was super dangerous to drive so I parked my car. Then I thought about selling it for a profit but nobody seemed interested... And now that I've done all this wicked blue interior and double din, I can't part with it.
This weekend I painted the front calipers silver along with the hub after I took a wire brush to get that nasty rust off. I have a facebook album if anyone is interested in checking out lots of pics (search Jarrod English and I'm probably apart of some Edmonton network but you'll find a soarer album in my photos). I'll post a link when I'm home. I was also thinking of doing a caliper painting DIY as I couldn't find a full on guide.

The "cut" near the window control will be caused by broken plastic underneath - very common problem. Best thing to do is pull the door skin off and re-inforce with glassfibre and resin before it gets any worse, and get a repair specialist to patch the break - or find another door card thats not broken and re-inforce that. Do all the other week points while you are at it (middle of window area etc).
The main vent crack is very, very common (in fact you hardly ever see a Soarer without a cracked vent!) Not much you can do except try and find one that isn't cracked to replace it with. I just put up with mine as its hairline and hard to spot.
