Matt, I finally cleaned my headlights with my sister. First I tried the soapie steel wool pads, and it stayed clear for about 5mins then went back to the normal colour. Then today we tried the stuff you gave me and It actually worked abit, its probably 3shades clearer than before, its still got a slight yellow tinge but, it worked. I followed the intructions step by step. Thankyou so much for the stuff!

Well, I was pretty sure, I watched them paint it and never saw a untinted shoot (must have just not been there when it was done I guess), the scratches on it do appear to be directly into the colour unlike scratched on my UZZ30, and the oxidization on the rear spoiler doesn't look anything like what the oxidization on my UZZ30 was like, which lifted the clearcoat on the front bar (different symptoms of a different problem perhaps?)

However clearly I'm wrong and just don't know what I'm looking at.

I'm not going to argue with an expert!

Guys, its a cutting compound I use at work all the time to remove the dirt or grainy texture in clear coats. It does not burn the paint or leave swirls, but designed to remove deeper scratches or inconsistency in the clear.

And yes, all cars have clear whether it's satin, semi or gloss, otherwise you'd get oxidation over the years and paint will fade/peel.

You wouldn't cut anything besides 2pack because the others have no hardener in paint mixtures.

clear coat is usually applied 20-30 minutes after the colour

the oxidization was probably older then the other car mabe, some are differant, some are just faded bad, and others start to show signs of peeling . bit like sunburn blisters.

see this pic? you can buff this up to a high gloss but it will always come back.
