yeh no service done just checked the basics I had to fix a power steering leak in Adelaide but that was there when I bought it, the oil of the engine was absolutely disgraceful amongst a lot of other things, but I did not care about the engine it was coming out as soon as I got home. In saying all of that it came back here with out missing a beat at all, I was rather impressed I got 987 km's per tank of fuel and it was not on cruise for most of the journey, 1240 km with a 20 litre jerry can, amazing fuel consumption I was very impressed. It never looked like even getting hot it does how ever have a Golpher Aluminium Radiator in it, but it has been over heated at one stage because it appears that the valve stem seals have gone, it blows a lot of smoke on start up but then nothing. Handling was a dream, I was told it has Subaru racing suspension in it and it is very solid in tight turns but I have not checked out what exactly it does have in it yet. I feel that even in the state is was in it would of made it the way around Australia without missing a beat, so a well loved and maintained one would do it so easy. The Great Ocean Road was absolutely awesome to drive along in it.

What model subaru uses double wishbone suspension- I thought they were all strut? LOL. Most likely some sort of mistake there. (although if there is some part crossover I'd love to hear about it!)
James- Take a breath, son, and try breaking up that blob of text with some form of paragraph or punctuation. I am far from an expert, but it'll make your posts easier to read.
[edit] I just looked at your prfile...disregard the 'son' comment.

Ha Ha HA Ben I will try to take a breath.
As far as having subaru suspension I don't know anything about subaru's to be able to tell what model they came out of and I have not had time too check them out as yet but I am about to start work on her today. So I will be able to tell you more soon
Swapping the motor over, I have another 1uz-fe that has had a bit more love then the engine that is in her, so i will pull out her engine and strip it and do it up as strong as I can get her.
I was reading a blog somewhere on a technical site saying that you could put 3-uz vvti heads on a 1uz motor, all you had to do was drill the extra oil gallery's in the block. So I am looking into that at the present.

Okay Guys and Girls the suspension was out of a supra, they had come from a wreckers or a second dealer by the looks of things because the had been written on with blue permanent marker saying that they where out of a subaru wrx sti, but a closer inspection ( whipping off more of the gravel dust I gathered on my way back) showed that they were genuine Toyota bilstien ones probably out of a supra I'm guessing.
