negative... quite a few places in WA comply soarers this is true but no places have the evidence packages or plates to comply anything older than march 1996... trust me i have pulled out a lot of hair trying to sort this =(
for me i have to get the car complied over in victoria then transit it over from there to perth... sucks quite a bit... but the white one we picked up for very very cheap...
the black one... not so cheap for a soarer... probably considered expensive for a soarer @ the black one... but take into consideration the custom fabrication work on it and the features it has... it's still cheaper than say - a brand new Yaris...
and i know what i would rather drive ;)
that's also taking into consideration the 18x9 and 19x10 work wheels i have for it

yeah it's taken me ages! i had to submit my work email because it won't accept my hotmail.
which is a shame really considering i handed in my resignation this week making my email addy redundent haha
and yes - rice lights. it will be getting returned to stock the minute i get the car haha
i can't understand why the jap owner didn't keep the series 3 lights!!! the S3 lights are made of a different composite to s1 and s2 - they give off the blue cutoff line same like BMW / audi
but noooooooooooooooo he had to get sucked in by ebay rubbish! haha

Yes, Series 3 1UZfe and 2JZge can be complied, but nobody got plates for the 1JZgte, trust me - i've called every single RAWS workshop in perth that is registered with DOTARS and they all say nein... nobody has evidence or emissions packages for them...
they could use my cars as test cars but there's not enough market for them in WA to justify throwing cash around to get them...
WA is a fickle market. a WA import customer would sooner spend 20 grand on an S15 silvia... than spend 15 grand on a better equipped, better built, better feature packed Soarer, built in the same year..
WA import customer would prefer to spend 30 grand on a V35 skyline because it's "new" than spend 25 grand on a mint condition RZ supra.
Soarers are largely forgotten about in the import scene because they're the "golden child" of the 1990's... they came into aust in the thousands as 1991/2 models with the little "soarer" problems they have like blinky dash etc, they got a bad wrap over the years and people stopped buying them.. it also doesn't help the resale value that everyone seems to favour putting 20x7.5 chinese chrome wheels on their cars... which looks horrid.
most people don't even know that there WAS a series 3. most people don't know they were built up to 2000.
most people also don't know that the supra was in production until 2002. and yet WA favours the silvia and skylines as it's favourite import... why that is is simply beyond me...

Hey, Peter!
uhhhmmm i think i got both from USS Kobe auction house...
Kobe is a fairly quiet auction house it's not as popular or closely monitored as say, USSTokyo / Nagoya...
The white one i picked up from Kobe on a Saturday, locals don't bid on Soarers because they're an older car and too much hassle for them to pass sha-ken every year, and overseas dealers rarely go for soarers these days because they're hard to move for them...
the white one passed through with no bids, i knee-jerked and bought the white one @ 280K fob (about 2,500 car cost)
the black one however, i didn't let that one make it to auction, i bought it before they let it go up... got it for 680K fob (still very cheap but "getting up there" as far as soarers go)
the previous owner kept the chrome kebab-uleh spec wheels however,
when i GET the car, it will have gold VS-XX 17" on it... these will be for sale.
i have another set of rims which should arrive any day now

also - while i'm still ranting...
if you guys are interested in ever upgrading your soarers now is definitely the time to do it..
during the 3 months i spent searching for "the one"
i found about 3 cars i liked...
first was a 99 build black black GTT manual, with RG JTC N'1 coilovers, catbacks, BBS LM 18" gold face, car was IMMACULATE. only problem was i had no idea what to bid... i had a crack at 600K fob not knowing it's financial worth and a local buyer got it for 800K car cost...
secondly there was a series 1.5... it's still for sale to this moment i beleive, it's on yahoo japan, absolutely PERFECT. if anything i think this one's nicer than my one haha..
i placed a bid on this car for 550K car cost but the seller will not sell for less than 600K car cost
