After having a mate sell me his jzz30 soarer which he looked after very poorly for $3000 im stoked to have it home and to start work.

He purchased the car of an older man who looked after it very well I would assume because i vaguely remember seeing it when he first got it and thinking "wow this is clean".

The first day my friend owned it he came around a corner too fast and spun a 180 turning anti clockwise and hit a guard rail on the front. About two weeks later he "attempted to drift" a corner and clipped a gutter with the rear right wheel.

After that the car sat for around 1yr with obvious problems and he was not in a position to fix it and to be honest i don't think he really cared about it.

I came along, offered him what i thought was reasonable given the state and now am the new owner.

The only mods are a BFI and custom 3" dump pipe to the stock cat and stock cat back.

I have owned a few cars before this, MA70 and s13 so I'm fairly mechanically minded. I like to tinker myself and sometimes have the attitude 'no job is to small', with that being said i have often started something and thought, what the hell am i doing.

It is a 1jzgte with a r154 g/box and is pearl white.

I have gathered some parts already , new steering wheel, gear knob, arc bov from Ramyn (thanks!) and a rear bar also.

The car is booked in this coming monday to have the front bar and rails fixed up and hopefully I will grab some more rear control arms etc from one of Ramyns friends whos name has slipped my mind right now.

Future plans are FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, full 3'' exhaust, turbo upgrade, FPR, re-tune and hopefully make somewhere close to 230-250rwkw pretty safely. I have order some Silkroad coilovers aswell from JP via Jesse Streeter aswell.

heres some pics of when it sat at my friends house just before i bought it home.

Jesse

Welcome!

No offence, but your friend is a dick! He should stick to Daewoo's and Hyundais.

Sorry Harley but i really dislike that woodgrain steering wheel and gear knob. They have both been replaced. Yes he is a good guy but a dick when it comes to cars. I don't really mind though , I bought an s13 off him for $800 and ended up selling it for $4000. I dont think I will sell the soarer though.
