Actual wheel size is irrelevant if you are sticking with the same rolling diameter. Offset and tyre size are the important things. 255's are an easy fit even with low offsets. I've never seen a Soarer with bigger than 275's on it, but there are probably people who do run bigger.
Don't forget wider tyres = bigger chance of aquaplaning.

when i had 19's i had 285x35x19's with 19x10 +35 and fitted no problem just had to take the little strip around the guard off. I had the guards lipped just in case though after i had them on for a while cause i wanted to lower it heaps. If you check in general soarer chat i have a few pics of 18x10 with +17 offset

275/35/18 on the rear of mine on a 46 offset. No issues at all, but- if your camber is out(ie you are running too much) you will get a very obvious wear pattern on the inside edge.
They have been on there the 8 years I have owned it. No modifications were done. All the plastics are intact. I am running coilovers with a rear ride height of 340mm CWG.

hi all does anyone know how long would it take to change a rear main seal on a V8 and does the motor have to be dropped or is just the gear box itself?
Also is there anywhere in Perth where i can have my front headlights polished...they are a bit dull.

hi guys ive got a 93 soarer running 18x8 on the rear with 245; my question is that can i fit 18x9 running on 275s with a offset of 46 which i have been told to get. and if so without any rubbing or any complications. also whats the best way to improve the dullness out of my headlight?

Hi Peter can you tell me please if i can fit 18x9 inch wheels on the rear with 275 35 tyres on a 46 offset without dramas. i was told that the offset must be a 46, can you tell me if this is correct. i could not find anything on the tutorial section to answer my previous queries. many thanks

Tony, your previous query had 2 parts. Offset and headlights.
Matthew answered the first part (both actually), and I answered the 2nd part.
Wheel, tyre and offset match up's have been discussed many times, so Search will turn up many interesting and informative threads that would be very useful to you.
