Hi to all my old friends here and new members. I've been out of the loop for a while, busy walking the treadmill paying of the house etc, but my Soarer has been patiently waiting .. let hope she hasn't got any corrosion in the bores .. the fuel system is gummed thats for sure, I think from octane booster left in the lines.
The time has come now to move my car to the next level and get back on the track and have some fun !
I was holding out to get the very best of everything, like a molly cage, but I'll be waiting for ever at this rate, so steel will do, likewise the stock computer will do the job, rather than the big expense of a full standalone system.

Steve, nice mate .. thinking of the same for mine for a fun track car .. has a 1/4 panel dent already so I'm half way there .. what size & width wheels/tyres you think best handle .. welcome back mate ..

Thanks Pete !
The only dent I got in mine was while in storage. We had a couple of wooden curtain rods, which I placed leaning against the wall next to the car, I turn and walked away and BANG one slid over onto the car... oh @#@#, so I pull the covers off the car and a nice ding in the front guard @#@$ @#$@ @#@$ @#$@$ !!!. Anyway I think it can be knocked out within to much trouble, but at the time it really hurt !
For the wheels, I'de go 17inch as it will keep the cost of tyres down over anything bigger and less chance of rim damage from tyre profile. The only time you might need to go bigger is if you have a big brake disk/caliper. As for width, I'de say go as wide as you can. Tyre prices will be higher, but you will get more wear out of a wider set I think, possibly more grip aswell since the Soarer isn't exactly a lightweight ... but still it is lighter than a Falcadore. I had 17x8's with RE55 225's and I destroyed them in 1 trackday ... with my 17 x 9.5 and 265s I get more than 1 year out of them now, although that is also due to setup and suspension changes. I should point out that i had to get the guards folded in order to fit the 17 x 9.5 (Simmens B45's).
Good luck with it, I'm sure you will have allot of fun if you go ahead.
