Hey everyone,

I have just recently bought a 1999 Toyota Soarer factory manual and single turbo. I am new to this forum so am probably repeating a lot of things. Just wondering what is the first thing I should do and is there anything I need to be careful with etc. I live in the Manawatu so am also curious if there is any other Soarer owners around here that can help me out.
Thanks for any help

Welcome Jordan, start with having a look through the tutorials and see if any of them look like they might be useful.

Thanks Peter. Is the model of my car quite rare because there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on it? Its such an awesome and under-rated car. I was just wondering if I need to bother with things like an exhaust and waste gate etc.

The newer they are, the rarer they are.

I would suggest just enjoy it!

Factory manual single turbo would be my choice these days too. Good find Jordan! :-)

Oh, and there where tens of thousands of Soarers made from 1991 to 1999, but factory manuals are definitely less common.

It's very rare to find a soarer manufactured in 1999 even in Japan.
Just for your interest, I'll note the factory manual gear ratios of the 2.5GT-T.
1st: 3.251
2nd: 1.955
3rd: 1.310
4th: 1.000
5th: 0.753
reverse: 3.180
differential ratio: 4.083
