Hi all, I'm new around these parts. Been looking to buy a Soarer, and I've sent a few emails to guys selling theirs here. Like that red/black one, so nice but missed out.
I'm in a wheelchair form a motorbike accident 4 years back, and i used to have a RA60 Celica i loved to bits, but had to sell from the accident. Now I'm wanting to get back into something a bit more sporty and sell the hell out off my 2000 VT, such a horrid car.
Went down and seen a friends Soarer to see if i could get in and out OK and it worked out, So now the next step is to get one off my own.
But anyway, There's a few in the same state as me and hopefully going to look at them by weeks end.
I will put some photo's up once i get it,
P.S
On the other hand what I'm wanting to see is getting a manifold set up like in this link, Would it be street legal or not?
Please don't jump at me for putting it in the wrong section, i tried in modifications but it wouldn't let me post there

Welcome mate. I've had mine 12 months now and the Soarer community here is a great bunch, very helpful, with lots of knowledge. And with the sun finally starting to shine on Adelaide, its a good time to meet up with some when you get your car.

That set up looks sweet and sounds good. Maybe give regency a call at their vehicle standards/ modification office 1300 882 248 and have a chat before you fork out cash on it.

One off the cars i was looking a fell through, Going out Sunday to have a look at one.
Been on the phone today to some importers seeing what they can get. Was hoping to find one with a black interior but i think the chances off me finding one in good conditions is slim to none.

I think that manifold setup would just suck in hot air, and there's no filtering.. you should just save your cash and put it into a supercharger setup Those things would just suck all sorts of crap into your engine, and i don't think they're suitable for road use where a bonnet is on the car

Easy fix, longer trumpets straight through the bonnet... Ala 70's style street machine Wonder if there is an induction/aircleaner box that could be adapted to it???

I read somewhere the cheapest way to get your car to go faster is to put a bottle of Nitro (gas) under the bonnet and a switch to turn it on when you want to go fast. Anyone recall reading something similar?? I believe they use this in drag racing??

So true, nitrous oxide will give ya a great bang for ya buck, but thats in the boot, and ya might as well get the 500hp kit, dont bother with the 25hp increment variants, cause if ya gone get defected, ya might as well get done with a bang!!! That would have been a movie review ya read there Vincent... Fast and the furious made a joke of NOS...

Im looking at importing a JZZ30 from Japan because it has black interior which is what i want. If i can get it for a reasonable price I'm thinking off putting a 1UZ half cut in afterwards. Jap imports have one for $1,800. Will i need to change the gearbox to suit or will it be fine with the one it has in there?

Yeah, Just got off the phone from iron chef imports and they said that to get it here would cost the same as buying one here and getting the trim redone. Willshire gave me a price $4000 for a complete retrim. There's a local guy where i live, but he would have to see the car first to give me a price.
Ill probably end up getting one here and re doing the trim at a later point
EDIT:
Re guarding the 8TB manifold setup i asked about, i rang regency and they said they would give me a permit if i went in on a dyno and if it meets the emissions standards they would write me up an exemption permit to have them. So i emailed the company who makes them in NZ to see if i can get a hold off their reports from a dyno run. Hopefully its all legal
Will be taking the single out and putting a dual system like it supposed to have. I was looking at new rims but those look pretty sweet. And after finally finding a place that sells the rims i want, they don't sell to Australia (American company).

as above i would suggest swapping the interior into a factory UZZ31 rather then the motor so you don't have issues with engine numbers and types not matching the chassis

Hey Jason, Nice car mate .. I'm in a wheelchair as well and find these cars more comfortable to drive .. I'm surprised some of the WA guys didn't tell about a late model black on black leather V8 here for sale .. enjoy your ride .. the VVTI turbo is a nice setup so you may change your mind converting it .. Cheers mate and
