Hi everyone,

I have just bought myself a 94 tt soarer.
It is unreg, has a few dings etc, thinking of getting it back on the road.

Main plan for it is to lift it a bit, fit some 4x4 or rally tyres and race it in motorkhana events like at BORMSA (near Beverley) eventually.

There may be some funny questions in the next few months regarding lifting a soarer as I start my build.

Lots of good info on this site :-)

This should be interesting .. .. Good to see you onboard Geoff .. off roader hey .. We've all seen 24's etc on Soarers and lifting them to the skies but not one as an off road setup .. good luck with the project .. keep us up to date .. maybe start a thread on the Track and Major Rebuilds link to post up progress

Oh this could be cute, I wonder what kind of supporting mods you'd need to do outside of the suspension, big wheels instantly create a lot of torque strain on a car, so i wonder what happens to differentials and transmissions. Keep us up to date!

I have been hoping that I wont need to do too many mods to the drivetrain, after all 99% of the racing is gravel/mud/sand.
The diff will need an LSD or a locker so I don't go losing control in gravel hairpins.
Looking forward to starting this project that's for sure!

Post your progress up in the Track car section. Whilst there will be some differences in your build, basic car prep will be very similar. There are some amateur (mine!) builds, as well as some pretty special builds in there. We have time attack, sports sedans, drifting covered but no rally/off roaders...
