Hey all, Just wanna introduce myself and my new soarer I currently live in Mackay north Qld and a employed as a train driver. I have always had a passion for my toyota's especially Soarer's and Supra's , I recently sold my supra to buy a 1991 model uzz31 in pearl white. Everything is pretty much stock except for the alarm, exhaust and stereo. She comes with all the fruit EMV etc. She is in reasonable condition on the exterior minus a few dings here and there, But the interior is mint!! I bought if from a guy in NSW , was quite a road trip but it was well worth it !

Thanks Walter, Haven't got a clue mate. It seems to of been on the car for quite a while. Only real thing I know about the body of the car is that it was once blue and has been resprayed in pearl white.

Yea I fully agree, looks like it rolled off the production line like that. I dont believe it has been in Australia very long so the kit was probably put on over there.

Thanks Mike,
Thats a great question. Well in terms of the quality there is no comparison. The soarer is so much better built. Everything feels solid and built to last, which i think the soarer has so far proven. In my opinion all new cars these days are not built to last after a few years they will start to fall apart and fail.
As for the driving experience the i45 is an amazing car to drive it looks and feels great and its very comfortable on the highway and around town. The fact they have used sports shift with the auto shifter and also paddle shifters on the steering wheel means you have options on how you want to drive it according to your mood. In saying all of this when I jump into my soarer it still feels more like home and if I was to pick the best of the two for driving experience it would be the soarer.
Now for performance, I was quite surprised the first time I jumped in the I45 for a test drive. Although the engine is only small in comparison it has got some very good power! Takes off on the line hard with quite a bit of torque steer and keeps pulling hard until 6th gear and with the addition of the paddle shifts it makes it so much more fun. Handling wise the I45 wins again. It always feels so stable and stuck to the road weather it is ripping through corners or cruising on the highway. Also the brakes on several occasions have proven to me how well they work!
Although most of these comparisons are inaccurate due to the I45 being brand spanking new and the soarer being 21 years old.
In twenty years when the i45 is as old as the soarer i think sadly it will be in a pile of scrap metal. which is a pity because it is a great car to drive as well as look at. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. (I should also note the the I45 is the top of the range model)
