Actually they are pretty awesome, are you forgetting the car is 20+ years old? Most BMW and Mercedes electrics start going wrong in half that time! The EMV was a high tech bit of gear back then and they do wear out needing some maintenance these days, you can send it off to some local guys that repair them at a cost, search around the forum and you should find their details. |

I got a new emv off a mate... The screen lights up now but still no buttons... Does the sat nav have to be plugged in for the unit to work? Theres a female plug socket on the back of the emv that doesnt have a male On the far left of the unit is there supposed to be one there?

Reason im asking is im thinking of gutting one of my emvs... Completely strip it out and install my own double din head unit inside the case of the emv... Keeping the factory look...

Good video mate. 12s on a v8 is near impossible from what I've seen. Sc v8s have done low 13s. I'm sure it's possible with fi weight reduction and slicks

Looks like fun Ben. I want to run mine to get a time before blower goes on, but we have bugga all street drags over here (in last 10 odd years). My goal is to run a 12, with a/c on!!! I fitted 2800 stall, MV shift kit, full exhaust and BFI and i would guess with the stock engine I would be running hi 13's low 14's as is. I cant see why people struggle for 12's, there is a hell of a lot more ya can get out of these, just takes $$$. Your question about Walbro, I recently put a 255 in mine, just needed to change the plug but it was a simple 30 minute job :o)

The HVT is certainly a sexy looking little piece of kit and was on my planned mods, but I have started with an M90. Maybe a ways down the track i will look at something bigger, some head work and better pistons, but for now, it will more than do me. There is nothing like the sound of an angry 8 running down the strip lol Good luck with your progression

I have no plans to open motor at this stage, but one day, it will happen. See a set of heads in forsale section going cheap, you could have them done by the time you have the pistons installed. If you havent already, get extractors on there mate, I put on a set just last week. You can feel them free the beast straight away.
