Hello all!

We'll start off with a proper introduction. My name is Chris, I'm a member of the Georgia Air National Guard. (USA).

I picked up an SC300 for a whooping 800 dollars about a month ago. The Soarer is one of my favorite japanese market cars so I had to jump on the deal. I did some research and ended up getting my hands on a 1JZ GTE VVTI that I thought was out of a chaser. Come to find out it's a Crown motor... *SIGH*.

My current problems have been that the ECU was immobilized... So I lucked out and found a vvti soarer ECU / wiring harness. YAY!

Well, Nothing in life is ever easy as I'm finding out now... haha, a HUGE majority of the plug mate up to their proper spots. but when it comes to the connections to the transsmission- I have a 2 x 2pin connectors, a 9 pin, and a 12pin. and on my soarer harness I have 2x 2pin, a 9 pin, and an 8 pin. the 8 and 12 pin connectors are on the back side of the trans towards the tail shaft on the left side if you're looking at the back side of the trans.

I can't find much info on anything crown related at all... and am reaching out to my fellow soarer enthusiasts in countries where they actually exist legally to see if anyone has any answers for me. Greatly appreciated is an understatement to what I'll be to any help thrown my way.

(Also had no idea where this thread belongs, so hopefully I won't be flamed for putting it here.

Welcome mate. I would be looking at just going full aftermarket engine management if you are putting a replacement engine in. No tuning issues if you want to boost it or modify it later on.

Arguably less mucking around than trying to get the factory management to work with your US loom. I have no idea how close the US SC300 is to the Ij out of a crown.

Good luck either way.

I have a jap spec 1jz harness and computer. I will be going with an aem v2 eventually, but I want to make sure the factory equipment works properly before I go throwing another 2-4 thousand at it.
