Hey Guys,

I just got my sixth Soarer a couple of weeks ago. Another V8 UZZ31. Is there a way to get the actual year of manufacture? It has 5/94 on the plate imported 01. But having owned 5 others I am certain it is not a 94 model. It has earlier tail lights and no outside temp on dash etc...

Some pics to see for yourself and give me some input.

Doesnt look like the updated model. Old front bar, old tail lights etc.
Does it have turning lights in the bumper, or fogs?

Tidy otherwise. IMHO, a bit overdone with the Lexus badges though

Fairly certain they are turning lights. Is there a way to check the year from the original UZZ frame number?

you should be able to enter the VIN into ToyoDIY, which should tell you the year.

No it looks like the original stamp from the Importer. They must have just stuffed up!? It also says it is a Soarer SSS, not sure what the SSS bit is all about?

Darren, the SSS may refer to the importer, or who did the compliance.

Anyway, enjoy it. I am on my 3rd Soarer.

Ian, So yes you were right about the SSS.

The stamp has to be original as the Rego papers state 1994 as the year model.

If it was sold to you as a 94 ,then you can back the car and reclaim your funds,If I had sold this car at the dealership and could not prove it was a genuine mistake,i would lose my salesman licence.

It was private and a direct swap for a Camry I had and just wanted to be back in a Soarer. Besides, I am still very happy with the car! I have owned 2 other 91 models and they were the best ones I have had.

My friend also just bought a Soarer with all the 91-93 features but the production date said it was a 94. I will ask for his vin and check with Toyodiy.
