Iv owned my Soarer for about two Years but rarely drive it because I have a habit of getting into trouble, It seamed a shame to turn it into a track car but since I have I,v never been happier.
One of the dramers iv always had is its so expensive to beef up cars , well that was till I dedicated it for the track. In the past year I have put in a lot of work and although most people probly think im a total moron my gt tt says otherwise, we cant all be rich but we can have fun .
This is my first post and I don't even know if it will work so hears a list of mod iv done and if anyone cares im more than happy to try and chat.
Total build cost $600 to $1000 , im a welder so that has come in handy big time,
Locked diff $0
stripped weight still ongoing $0
modified sway bars front and rear $0
Hydraulic handbrake $35
Valve to shut off rear breaks $20
Battery relocation $80
boost gauge, isolator, switch panel $40

Short shifter $0
surge tank ,Fuel cell $50
3" straight through exhaust n home made muffler all stainless $100

intercooler sprayer...my point being
this has taken my car to the next level with way more mods to come cromoly cage $200, wide lock $100... Crap, I gotta go.

G'day Tom.

I assume you have seen the track car section. There are a few of us who have turned Soarers into track cars of some sort.

There aren't to many big dollar haters on this forum. There are a bunch of people who like their cars for various reasons: some like the luxury aspect, some see it as a base for a show car, some are 'ricers', some like the reliable streeter, and some like to flog the arse out of them on the track . We all manage to get along.

We all tend to steal ideas from each other. I'd be keen to see some pictures of the work you have done. I do most of my own work, and have been banging away on my lapsprinter/time attack/track car for the past five or six years.

Yes I know you have ben. I have read some of your your threads, your car is an absolute weapon You should be very proud.
Sorry if I came off a little full on im not much of a typer and computers stress me out a little iv been wanting to post for some time but as im sure you know theirs not enough hours in the day.
Hey ben thanks for being putting me in my place with (all the haters)I get a bit of flack from people at work who have all the gear and no idea and because I keep it off the road I cant blow their doors off.
I live in Albury and here their is not much support for race tracks. The closest one is Winton, to be honest im not much of a racer I just love getting pear shaped and stunt driving.
I will try and post a few pictures when I figure out how.

I think I speak for most of us here when I say that we all love reading about the different things that people are doing with their Soarers.

It's probably the one club in Australia that doesn't have much infighting going on.

Welcome and enjoy!
