Hey guys,
I've purchased a '91 uzz31 in very good condition and I've done some work to it in the last few months. I've re-capped the ECU, replaced o2 sensors, replaced alternator, rebuilt power steering pump, replaced fuel filter, cleaned a/c filter and put in a big-ass 810cca battery. I live in Brisbane and I'm looking to find a mechanic who I can confidently leave the car with them to work on without worrying about what condition it'll be returned. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Bris? Cheers!

Yeah I looked around for quite a while before I found this one. I test drove a few which were promised to be great, but I ran diagnostics while testing them and they all came up with a number of faults. One even went into limp home mode, which I happily left sitting on the side of the road for old mate that told me it was awesome to come and pick up. The only thing wrong with this one is SUS 22, which I think is a height sensor? I'll drive it around for a few more months to make sure it will be reliable and then I'll start piecing together all the parts necessary for a turbo project

Hi Jason, I don't need anything done at the moment, but when I want the timing belt done in the near future I'd prefer to have someone that's done it before to work on the car. It's a pretty major job from what I've seen.

Though I have had a workshop put one timing cam back on two teeth off. When I took it back they basically redid the whole job to put it back on one tooth out. This is when I finished it myself. I found out to move the cam all you need to do is remove the cam covers and remove the tensioner. Mark the spot on the belt beforehand so can see where to move. Moral of the story look for a mechanic who is good at this job in general. Also if you know the motor it's a bonus and there is surely ways to cut down on the time the job takes.

After taking my car to Fulcrum Suspension and getting them to check over everything to try and resolve why my car was wandering a bit they declared everything was fine and all the bushes were changed recently. I decided that was bs and I'd check myself. This is the condition of the top steering rack bush I found, and this is why I have trust issues with workshops.
