Hi guys
Chasing a new Auto for my 91TT.
Unless I'm mistaken it's a A340E
Can someone in Perth please point me in the right direction to anyone they recommend?
For the long term I think I'd rather get a rebuilt one rather than buying one from an old wreck that could possibly itself shortly after anyway.
Done some ringing around and it appears that no wreckers in Perth have one anyhow!
I'm north side of Perth but happy to take it anywhere really.....Need my baby back on the road! Please help!!

Yes A340e is the box you want. Yes rebuilding is the way to go. What is wrong with your box? You could send it to Gilroys Automotive but that would not be cheap. They are the specialist for that box. Alternatively you could buy a rebuild kit from LVL10 and add a cooler from Goleby's parts with a MV shift kit. Solid option that will last you forever and you might save some money. Get it rebuild locally.

Don't waste your money on a rebuild.

The boxes can last for a long time, and often second hand ones are fine.

I've picked up many 4 and 5 speeds in perfect condition for less than $200, sometimes even $50 or $20!

Done 20,000kms on my current 5 speed auto I installed as an upgrade, it was $100.

Try find a lower KM car and get an Autobox from it. Like others mentioned you can often find them in good condition. The harder part would be the installation.
